Position Summary
Under the direction and guidance of the Organization and the HSE Supervisor the HSE Representative coordinates company-wide health and safety activities related to all upstream oil and gas activities. Complies with all Company Health Safety and Environmental policies practices and programs. Takes corrective action within training limitations and escalates as necessary. Key Accountabilities
- Provides health and safety support to oil and gas operations including production drilling workover and construction activities.
- Prepares internal communications and necessary tools to assist company personnel in complying with new and existing regulations.
- Acts as an incident coordinator to report and investigate HSE events.
- Uses professional networking and relationship-building skills to benefit the companys HSE program.
- Engages in directing and management of health and safety consultants.
- Creates and delivers training materials related to health and safety topics and requirements.
- Organizes schedules and completes basic projects and assignments in a timely manner with direction and interim review; day-to-day supervision diminishes with tenure.
- Collaborates with the asset HSE and other functional teams to effectively meet area and departmental HSE goals.
- Assesses jobs projects and field activities for compliance with HSE rules regulations policy and law.
- Participates in audits of assets and supports operations in the implementation of required corrective actions.
- Identifies problems and solutions based on training and knowledge of functional practices and procedures; uses a disciplined approach to problem-solving and frequently utilizes more senior staff for guidance.
- Supports asset-level management with the implementation of health and safety regulations standards and associated requirements.
- Maintains documentation and submits reports in compliance with applicable requirements.
- Interacts with regulatory agencies.
- Assists HSE supervision in preparing and maintaining written programs and gathering data necessary for communicating health and safety performance.
- May provide field support for various environmental programs including air waste and Hazardous Materials Business Plan
- Complies with all Company HSE policies practices and programs. Takes corrective action within training limitations. Escalates as necessary.
- Participates in and adheres to all training programs designed to enhance HSE knowledge safety standards and improve job performance.
- Performs other duties as assigned.
Education Certificates Licenses
- High School Diploma or GED equivalent required.
- Associate Degree in safety/health/environmental discipline or equivalent experience preferred.
- Bachelors Degree preferred.
- BCSP Certification (CSP ASPOHST etc) preferred.
- Valid Drivers License is required.
Experience
- 2 years of health and safety regulatory experience in the oil and gas industry.
- Drilling and/or workover rig experience is a plus
- Safety program writing and development is a plus
Knowledge Skills and Abilities
Critical:
- Demonstrates knowledge of Cal/OSHA standards regulations and methods of compliance.
- Oral and written communication skills.
- Proficient with Microsoft Office software.
- Basic knowledge of oil and gas operations and the implications for compliance HSE laws and regulations.
- Experience working with safety management suite (Cority Intelex etc.)
- Experience with emergency response functioning primarily as the Safety Officer in the Incident Command System
- Available to work a rotational weekend on-call schedule

Work Environment
- 70/30 field and office split.
- Routine work involves activities during a typical 9-hour day such as standing sitting driving walking typing and twisting as necessary.
- May require occasional overnight and out-of-state travel.
- May require occasional lifting up to 25 pounds.
- Must follow all company safety policies including when visiting field locations.
The pay range for this position is between $74094 and $93860 annually based on a full-time schedule. Please note that the annual salary information is a general guideline and that annual salary will vary depending on your location and that Berry Corporation (Berry) will consider factors such as (but not limited to) scope of responsibilities of the position candidates work experience education/training key skills internal peer equity as well as market and business considers when extending an offer.
