THE ROLE:TheField Service Technicianwill be responsible for troubleshooting service repair and maintenance of Xylems Flygt submersible pumps controls and support equipment in a safe and efficient manner. CORE RESPONSIBILITIES:To perform the job successfully an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily.
- Dissemble diagnose repair and serviceourFlygtpump equipment
- Troubleshoot electrical systemsandpumpsystems;repair/rebuild as necessary using computerized diagnostictools
- Troubleshoot and make electrical repairs to electrical control equipmentincludingelectric motors VFDs flowmeters and PLCs
- Perform routine inspections preventative maintenance and service; diagnose and report any damage
- Perform diagnostic checks using computer technology
- Test all repaired equipment for proper operation and quality
- Maintain a safe work environment by following EHS&S guidelines policies and best practices
- Operate a service truck and respond to customer repair calls as needed
- Perform related duties as assigned
- Participation in Xylem Watermark volunteer activities
QUALIFICATIONS:
- HS diploma or equivalent
- 1-3 years technical experience preferred; industrial or commercial process water experience a plus
- Ability to diagnoseelectricalissueswith advanced knowledge ofAC electric electric motorsand circuit testingskills
- Ability to safely operate hand tools power tools and lifting equipment
- Mechanical aptitude with an understanding of methods materials tools and techniques used in equipment repair and maintenance
- Ability to work independently with little or no supervision; self-motivated and self-directed
- Good driving record and valid drivers license
- DOT Medical cardor the ability toobtain
DAY IN THE LIFE:
In this role the working environment is frequently outdoors where exposure to extreme temperatures and machinery should be expected. The physical demands may include but not limited to ability to lift and carry 50 pounds walking sitting and standing for 8 addition this role may require up to 100% travel with some occasional overnight and overtime.
SALARY:
The estimated salary range for this position is $28.00 - $32.00 hourly. Starting pay is dependent on multiple factors such as skills experience and work location and is not typically at the top of the range.
