Job Description

US Farathaneis seeking a Corporate CI/LEAN Manager for our Tech Center in Auburn Hills MI.

The Corporate CI/LEAN Manager is responsible for assessing the current state of USF operational excellence identify gaps establishing a future state vision driving and implementing CI/LEAN training and projects monitoring progress and sharing LEAN best practices. This position will assist the Director of LEAN Systems & Plant General Managers in strategic initiatives that will deliver compliance with USF standards implement new systems and design creative solutions to continuously improve plant profitability.
This position will work onsite in Auburn Hills MI and USF manufacturing facilities.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
  • Responsible for leading plant CI personnel in facilitating high priority CI activities.
  • Responsible for identifying gaps in plant key metric performance and driving strategic corrective actions for improvement.
  • Responsible for eliminating waste and optimizing one piece flow in all manufacturing processes.
  • Responsible for training plant team members on Lean Manufacturing tools; SMED PCS Kaizen Problem Solving 6S & PFEP organizing and facilitating updates & reviews.
  • Assist GMs in developing annual plant CI profit plans with monthly forecast goals.
  • Responsible for reviewing USF standard plant tracking and reporting systems ensuring detailed action plans to drive timely completion of projects.
  • Work closely with all cross-functional teams to align lean manufacturing strategies throughout the organization.
  • Responsible for coaching and mentoring team members in LEAN Thinking; how to think and act differently as it relates to the elimination of waste.
  • Continually monitor and identify barriers to project success and engage process owners as needed to execute necessary corrective action plans.
  • Engage and champion employee safety and ergonomics.
  • Document improvement lessons learned and communicate best practices with sister plants to drive results and capability development consistency.
  • Complete a minimum of three (3) SMED Kaizen events per month publishing best practice results and potential read across opportunities.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Qualifications:
  • Bachelors degree in industrial engineering preferred.
  • Five-seven years demonstrated experience as a CI/LEAN practitioner (especially SMED)
  • LEAN Blackbelt is a plus.
  • Operations Management experience is a plus.
  • High energy and experience in inspiring and motivating cross-functional teams.
