Job Description

Overview

Dohrn Transfer is your complete Midwestern transportation partner. We offer less-than-truckload truckload and value-added services throughout our 10-state service area. Our family operated company provides the attention and flexibility that only a regional carrier can backed by excellence in service and powerful logistical tools.

Purpose:

To provide critical support to and within the Human Resources Department including maintenance of employee data compliance with all laws and company policies and assistance in the execution of HR initiatives.

Responsibilities

  • Enter and maintain employee data in multiple data bases and software systems
  • Create metrics with advanced tables and charting in Excel to analyze payroll and employment data
  • Distribute Company Wellness publications to employees and support Wellness initiatives
  • Complete verifications of employment
  • Manage Employee Badge System
  • Draft and design written communication and company postings
  • Performs periodic audits of HR files and records to ensure that all required documents are collected and filed appropriately
  • Prepares files and forms for new employees
  • Coordinate the Employee Self Service program
  • Attend and actively participate in meetings as required
  • Assist in the coordination of company events
  • Organize and maintain personnel records in compliance with laws
  • Ensure compliance with Labor Law postings at all locations
  • Maintain confidentiality at all times
  • Provide excellent customer service
  • Participate in HR projects
  • Manage multiple duties simultaneously
  • Work in a positive supportive and cooperative way at all times
  • Perform other duties as needed

Qualifications

Valid Driver License

2-year degree and 2 years experience in Business HR or other related field and/or equivalent combination of education and experience

Experience with HR software HRIS or HRMS preferred

Excellent interpersonal verbal and written communication skills

Advanced knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite

Excellent data entry and typing skills preferred

Human Resources experience preferred

Detail-oriented analytical thinker and problem-solver

Ability to multi-task in a fast-paced environment and react to change productively

Ability to navigate multiple computer systems

Ability to work on tasks independently or in a team environment

Excellent attendance

WORKING CONDITIONS/PHYSICAL DEMANDS

Primarily sedentary work which involves sitting most of the time

May be occasionally required to exert up to 20 pounds of force and/or negligible amount of force frequently or constantly to lift carry push pull or otherwise move objects

The general office environment is favorable; Lighting and temperature are adequate and there are minimal hazardous or unpleasant conditions caused by noise dust etc;

Visual Acuity including regular use of items including a computer screen or monitor

Manual dexterity is regularly required including fingering grasping and typing; manual dexterity includes repetitive motion of the wrists hands and fingers

Talking and hearing required to communicate with and listen to others to share or receive information; May be occasionally exposed to noise including telephone office machinery and conversations of others

Pay Range

Starting from USD $19.00/Hr.
