Job Description

IT Support Technician- Level 1
Reports To: Network Manager
Status: Full Time
FLSA Status: Exempt
Job Summary--As an IT support technician level I your primary responsibility will be to support the IT needs of all employees across multiple locations. As the first and primary contact for staff dealing with an IT issue you will need to manage issues from at the onset and see it through to its resolution. Youll be responsible for the buildout distribution and maintenance of all end-user computer systems within our organization in a technical support role. If there are any issues or changes required such as computer hardware and software issues forgotten passwords viruses or email issues. You will also assist the Network manager in all aspects of maintaining Judson Centers computer network.
Primary Duties and Responsibilities
  • Working with employees to identify and resolve their IT issues.
  • Track route and redirect problems to correct resources if necessary.
  • Log all technical issues and resolutions through our Helpdesk application software.
  • Report to Supervisor any Trends of common issues developing
  • Add/Modify/Delete user accounts through Microsoft Windows Active Directory & all necessary applications.
  • Ensure security and privacy of networks and computer systems.
  • Setup & deploy computer systems and other mobile devices to conform to organization standards.
  • Decommission retired assets.
  • Setup/replace Telephony Endpoints.
  • Maintain inventory of IT hardware assets.
  • Make recommendations on the maintenance and optimization of our computer network.
  • Provide on-boarding orientation and guidance to users on the operation of new software and equipment.
  • Diagnose hardware issues as well as arranging for and overseeing repairs.
  • Perform quarterly office assessments of IT inventory.
  • Ensure server rooms at all locations are organized and properly stocked with IT peripherals.
  • Recommend procedural modifications or improvements.
  • Other duties as requested by Network Manager
Job Qualifications
To perform this job successfully an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge skill and/or ability required.   • Associates degree in computer science or related OR CompTIA A Certification with 1-2 years experience.
  • Basic understanding of LAN and WAN functionality as well as TCP/IP Protocols.
  • Basic working knowledge of Microsoft Windows Active Directory.
  • Willingness and ability to quickly learn about new technologies processes and procedures.
  • Excellent diagnostic and problem-solving skills.
  • Outstanding organizational and time-management skills.
  • Excellent customer service skills; good written and oral communication skills.
  • Ability to work independently and as a team member.
  • Punctual responsible and self-motivated.
  • Valid Michigan drivers license with appropriate insurance.
  • Use of personal vehicle as needed with mileage reimbursement.
  • Cultural competence.
Certificates Licenses Registrations
  • CompTIA A (in lieu of Associates Degree)
Working Environment
  • Ability to work in an environment that requires working as a team member in an office setting or cubicle. Air conditioning; forced air regulated by thermostats.
  • Ability to work a flexible schedule evening and weekend hours as needed.
  • Ability to travel as responsibilities are agency-wide. Main duties to be performed at the Farmington Hills campus. Other sites include: Wayne Oakland Genesee Macomb and Washtenaw Counties.
