Lyons Gaddis is looking for a paralegal to work in the probate estate administration and estate planning group. This position plays a key role in the success of our firm. A significant aspect of this position involves handling probate court filings hearings preparation and submission of wills and other probate documentation and associate estate administration tasks such as the distribution and transfer of estate assets communicating with clients and assisting with all aspects of estate administration.

Required Skills/Qualifications:

  • Minimum 2 years prior legal assistant paralegal or comparable experience; probate experience is preferred.
  • Communication: Possess excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Respond promptly to attorney and client requests for service and assistance.
  • Dependability: follow instructions; complete tasks on time; work independently.
  • Demonstrate knowledge of legal terminology legal documents and legal processes.
  • Excellent attention to detail.
  • Strong computer proficiency in the use of MS Office (Word Excel PowerPoint and Outlook) Adobe e-Filing and database software.
  • Ability and desire to handle and complete assignments.
  • Organized self-starter.
  • Able to prioritize and handle busy workloads and deadlines.
  • Able to remain flexible and demonstrate a desire to learn and grow.
  • Proactively apply problem-solving skills.
  • Demonstrate initiative accountability and an interest in taking on new challenges
Duties/Responsibilities:

  • Client contact on telephone and in person
  • Preparation of court forms
  • Filing documents as appropriate with various state and county authorities
  • Finalize documents for execution
  • Docketing and monitoring deadlines
  • Document creation with lawyer support proofreading and revising documents
  • General support as needed for the estate planning/probate team
  • Regularly anticipates the needs of assigned attorneys to promote timekeeper efficiencies (i.e. drafts correspondence follows up with clients for information).
  • Finalize documents for execution and proofread all documents independently and effectively to ensure accuracy and completeness.
  • Document creation with lawyer support proofreading and revising documents.
  • General support as needed for the transactional team.
  • Maintain and organize files in an orderly manner.
  • Effectively manage and monitor calendaring of deadlines and key dates.

Salary Range: $60000 $75000 annual salary is based upon experience. This is a non-exempt hourly position.
