Are you the one were looking for


We are seeking a dynamic highly motivated Landlord Liaison who demonstrates our values of compassion accountability responsiveness and empowerment to our clients families and each other.


The Landlord Liaison is critical in supporting participants in securing and maintaining stable housing through collaborative partnerships with landlords property managers and Intensive Case Managers. This position is an integral part of our Housing First program which focuses on providing immediate access to housing with no preconditions followed by ongoing support to promote housing stability and well-being.


This is a unionized full-time permanent position. The rate of pay is $24.38.


Key Responsibilities:


  1. Collaborate with Intensive Case Managers (ICMs) to assess participants housing needs and identify appropriate timely housing options.
  2. Maintain regular and effective communication with private landlords social housing providers administrators and ICMs to ensure an integrated supportive housing approach.
  3. Negotiate with property managers and landlords; conduct pre- and post-move inspections of housing units to ensure readiness and compliance.
  4. Advocate on behalf of participants and provide support to landlords regarding tenancy issues including attending Landlord and Tenant Board hearings when needed.
  5. Conduct regular community visits and follow-ups with housing providers to support tenancy stability and the achievement of program goals.
  6. Adhere to all organizational policies procedures and expectations.
  7. Maintain accurate and up-to-date records in line with organizational standards.
  8. Participate in all required training professional development and individual/team meetings.
  9. Demonstrate working knowledge of the Residential Tenancies Act and provide related information and advocacy to participants and the case management team.
  10. Perform other duties as assigned.


What you will bring:


  1. Post-secondary education in Social Work Social Services Community Development Housing or a related field; an equivalent combination of education and experience may be considered.
  1. Minimum 2 years of experience in housing services homelessness prevention or working with vulnerable populations.
  2. Demonstrated understanding of the Housing First model and experience supporting individuals with complex needs including mental health substance use and trauma.
  3. Strong knowledge of the Residential Tenancies Act housing rights and landlord-tenant relations.
  4. Proven ability to build and maintain positive relationships with landlords property managers and community stakeholders.
  5. Excellent communication negotiation and conflict resolution skills.
  6. Strong organizational and time management skills with the ability to manage competing priorities in a fast-paced environment.
  7. Proficiency in Microsoft Office and client information management systems.
  8. Valid drivers license and access to a reliable vehicle for community-based work.
  9. A clear Vulnerable Sector Police Check is required.
