Job Description

The Role

Our Cans business is rapidly growing to meet increasing customer demands across Australia New Zealand and Oceania. Ballarat is our only Can End facility across Australia and New Zealand. This high performing site is a dynamic and complete business. With recent and continuing investment we expect an increase in our ANZ can business capacity of over 30% by FY30. This growth presents an exciting opportunity for skilled professionals like you to help shape our future.

We are seeking a commercially astute and driven Site Accountant to join our team at Ballarat. In this full-time Monday to Friday position we are offering flexible working arrangements based 3 days onsite at our Ballarat plant and 2 days remote you will play a key role in supporting the financial operations of our growing business. You will report directly to the Finance Director Operations and collaborate closely with the Ballarat Operations Manager and broader leadership team at Ballarat.

Key Responsibilities

  • Oversee financial accounting forecasting and reporting for the Ballarat site.
  • Provide reporting to key stakeholders to support effective decision-making.
  • Own and manage site-based capital requests including forecasting for capital projects.
  • Drive continuous improvement in systems and procedures around accounting and reporting including direct material tracking and cost per unit analysis.
  • Support the Finance Director in ad-hoc Cans divisional reporting and projects.
  • Manage statutory reporting budgeting and strategic analysis.
  • Lead commercial analysis and integration.

About You

  • Tertiary degree in Accountancy Commerce or Business Administration.
  • Post-graduate qualification (CPA or ACA).
  • Advanced proficiency in Excel with strong problem-solving and analytical skills.
  • At least 7 to 10 years of experience in financial or management accounting ideally in a manufacturing environment.
  • Excellent financial accounting and systems skills (SAP & QAD preferred).
  • Strong ability to meet deadlines and work under pressure with meticulous attention to detail.
  • A proactive solution-focused approach with the initiative to challenge the status quo.
  • Effective interpersonal and communication skills with the ability to work in a team environment.
