STAR Inc. is a non-profit located in Norwalk CT that provides support services to individuals with developmental/intellectual disabilities and their families for over 70 years. This takes many different forms but all with the same goal of improving the lives of those we serve. A Day in the Life of the Director of Development:
In this position you would play a very public and visible role securing donations gifts and grants to improve and expand the services STAR provides. You would do this by maintaining and deepening relationships with individual & corporate donors foundations and other organizations. You will be a representative of STAR at various meetings and events educating the community about the services STAR provides to further develop STARs network of supporters.
Additionally you will lead the development team in the planning and coordination of STARs special events such as auctions walks and luncheons to name a few. These special events are vital to raising funds as well as community awareness of STAR and our services.
You will also develop coordinated marketing campaigns by developing brochures newsletters social media and the Annual Report for distribution to donors corporations and community leaders to keep all of them up to date and engaged with STAR and the services we provide.
Qualifications for the Job:
- 7 years of nonprofit fundraising marketing and volunteer management experience.
- Proven success in major gift fundraising and campaign leadership.
- Strong communication project management and relationship-building skills.
- Proficiency with CRM databases and digital marketing tools.
- Energetic collaborative and passionate about community impact.
Schedule:
40 hours a week Monday-Friday & flexible hours based on the needs and responsibilities of the position.
