Job Description:
L3Harris Technologies is seeking a talented Engineering Services employee to support the deployed automated weather observation systems (AWOS) and ADS-B radios installed on oil platforms. Support includes transportation and logistics coordination for the operations and maintenance of the deployed systems and deployment of new systems. They will work with the FAA (which supplies transportation and logistics to/from each oil platform) and our AWOS provider (who supplies the technical resources and materials). They will understand and apply applicable logistics processes for all deployment and maintenance activities.
Essential Functions:
- Maintain/track daily updates regarding system failures system repairs platform travel updates and platform travel actuals. This must be done for both ADS-B and AWOS sites.
- Update project tracking presentation covering current and planned actions (corrective maintenance actions) and task order progress for new installations.
- Manage and track new installation sites including Tech Refresh of existing sites. Perform project management as well as transportation and logistics of material/equipment in coordination with FAA point of contact.
- Manage and track transportation and logistics of material/equipment going to existing sites (land-based and shore-based) and coordinate with FAA point of contact.
- Request travel to FAA contact for new maintenance actions. Coordinate travel between FAA transportation coordinator and AWOS Supplier as well as L3Harris field technicians in support of ADS-B.
- Maintain travel Coordination tracking sheet to track personnel assigned material required length of stay and FAA/platform coordination.
- Communicate and prioritize changes and work with the customer (FAA) and the Supplier (ADB Safegate) to coordinate changes to transportation and logistics.
- Tasks include:
- Maintain a record of preventive maintenance dates for the twelve (12) ADS-B sites
- Request and track AWOS and ADS-B field technician unavailability on a monthly basis
- Send email communication for each trip with details (location arrival time reason for trip etc.)
- Maintain weekly Excel file with task order and SCP status
- Travel <10% of the time. Typically 1 week per quarter
- Interface and maintain good relationship with FAA transportation coordinator.
- Communicate and interface regularly with internal/external customers and program management
- Maintain Process and Procedure Documentation. Identify process improvement opportunities and report up to the project lead
- Obtain and continue to hold an FAA Public Trust clearance.
Qualifications:
- Bachelors Degree and minimum 4 years of prior relevant logistics or project management Degree and a minimum of 2 years of prior related lieu of a degree a minimum of 8 years of prior related logistics or project management experience.
Preferred Additional Skills:
- Working knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite a plus
- Past experience demonstrating the ability to track project status
- Candidates should have general knowledge of aviation terms and processes
- Candidates should be self-motivated and be receptive to learning and expanding their personal knowledge base in the aviation and oil platform fields
- Must be personable with good communication skills used to interface with Customer and Supplier points of contact
- Candidates must be able and willing to learn and work both independently and in a team environment with minimal supervision
