Job Description Summary

The Electrical System Engineering Intern will work with a team of system engineers / Controls & Protection / Validation & Verification / Valves within the HVDC unit of GE Vernova to ensure that the business can deliver and change to meet the demands of the grid and renewable energy market. Job Description

Role & Responsibilities:

You will work in the field of Electrical design/study and Power Electronics engineering under the mentorship of technical expert in this field. The individual will work on a function depending on their prior coursework and degree.

  • Work with Electrical/Power Electronics Engineer in assigned project in the field of Electrical Design Circuit design filter design Electrical insulation coordination studies Equipment lifecycle management Reliability availability and maintainability studies Electrical losses management Control & Protection Dynamic studies C&P Strategies Control automations Testing / validation/ verification of control systems Power Electronics Hardware etc.

  • Develop and execute subsystem validation test plans in assigned domain

  • Work closely with mentors to provide technical clarification in current project

  • Provide documentation support in the assigned project

  • Provide technical support and assistance to overall project team as appropriate

Required Qualification:

  • Bachelors Engineering degree (Electrical & Electronics) and pursuing Masters (at least completed 1 year) in Electrical Power Systems or Power Electronics from reputed College/University

Desired Characteristics:

  • Strong prioritizing and time management skills.

  • Willingness to learn with passion.

  • Be self-motivated creative and a team player with ability to come up with unique solutions to complex problems.

  • Strong oral and written communication skills interpersonal skills.

  • Quickly identify best practices and apply them within the team.

  • Capable of working with multi-disciplined international team with good personal organization skills.

Join GE Vernovas High Voltage Direct Current (HVDC) Product Delivery Group (PDG) as an intern and gain hands-on experience in delivering cutting-edge grid solutions that enable the energy transition. You will work with global engineering teams to support key activities across system design hardware integration software validation testing and commissioning of HVDC projects. This role gives an excellent opportunity for a motivated candidate to innovate expand their technical skills and develop personally within an internationally recognized company in the renewables and grid sectors. The successful candidate will be part of a cohort of interns working within a 11 month development plan that allows them to stretch outside of their core academic background that prepares them for successful careers.
