ROLE DESCRIPTION
Through Realize Capital Partners we have a mandate under the Government of Canadas Social Finance Fund (SFF) aimed at accelerating social finance and amplifying nationwide impact. Our Associate Market Building provides important support and implementation for this mandate working across both internal teams and external relationships to develop and manage partnerships with both capacity-building providers as well as emerging fund managers. Working closely with others the Associate Market Building drives the development and delivery of resources to enhance investment readiness and new product creation within the Canadian impact investing market. This work is separate and complementary to our market-building work regarding impact measurement and management. This role reports into the Portfolio Manager for Realize Fund I and works closely with the Manager Community Investments and Market Building.
PRIMARY DUTIES
Partner Management and Coordination
- Coordinate and manage business and contractual relationships with a growing portfolio of capacity-building and fund manager partners ensuring clear expectations and oversight on deliverables
- Navigate and direct fund managers and community investment partners to the available resources and programming of capacity-building partners
- Support the Manager Community Investments and Market Building in identifying prospective opportunities for new capacity-building partner relationships based on market feedback
Technical Assistance Development and Support
- Support the Manager Community Investments and Market Building in identifying and developing appropriate capacity-building tools and template resources for fund managers across different asset classes
- Identify and recommend opportunities for targeted market-building investments in fund managers and community investment partners
- Work with the team to support new and emerging fund managers by providing guidance to strengthen their operations
Community Investment Development and Support
- Work with the team to advance opportunities with local and place-based investment strategies
- Provide focused assistance to prospective community investment partners to further develop their concepts into investable opportunities
- Identify and escalate key challenges requiring resolution with the support of the broader team
- Work with prospective partners to manage timelines and expectations while supporting a culture of accountability
- Refine and improve our service offering and processes through the ongoing capturing and retention of developed IP and best practices
- Develop and maintain networks to originate relationships and potential partnerships for local and place-based investment strategies
- Support the Manager Community Investments and Market Building in leveraging our advisory committees to advance our community investment strategy
QUALIFICATIONS
On your resume we ask that you demonstrate the following:
- Relevant degree or equivalent work experience with relevant professional credentials an asset. We are open to candidates from non-traditional educational backgrounds where appropriate work experience is present. We recognize that diverse areas of experience and knowledge can be valuable contributions to a robust investment process
- At least two years of relevant work experience in areas such as social impact community economic development impact investing fund management or partnership management. Interdisciplinary experience across both social impact issues and financial management is preferred
- Experience in managing a portfolio of relationships
- Strong skills and experience in project management prioritizing activities in complex projects
- Strong commitment to or experience embedding social equity into assessment practices
- Proficiency in both English and French is considered an asset
- That you are legally able to work in Canada without restrictions

Salary: $65-75000 a year plus performance-based bonus
