Your Mission

As Mercell moves into its next phase we are strengthening our HR team with an HR Operations Consultant to enhance and streamline HR processes in the Netherlands.

In this role youll work within the HR Operations team and contribute to a wider HR function that includes recruitment and communication. Cross-functional collaboration is a natural and essential part of how we work.

Core Responsibilities

  • Manage the employee lifecycle from onboarding to offboarding across the Netherlands

  • Take responsibility for maintaining accurate employee data and explore opportunities to improve efficiency through HR systems (HiBob Oneflow).

  • Respond to employee questions and concerns assisting in confidential employee relations matters.

  • Ensure compliance with labor laws and internal policies

  • Monitor labor law developments and share insights with the HR team.

  • Collaborate on regional HR projects and initiatives aimed at improving systems (e.g. HiBob Oneflow) processes compliance and employee engagement.


      Who you are

      • You have experience with HR processes and supporting employees through all stages of the employee lifecycle. (If youve worked in HR operations before thats great but its not a must.)

      • Youre comfortable working with HR systems and digital tools and you enjoy improving processes to make them more efficient and user-friendly. Experience with HiBob is a plus but not a requirement.

      • You have solid experience with Dutch labor law and understand its practical application in the workplace. (You dont have to be an expert yetwhat matters is your ability to learn and apply legal frameworks.)

      • Youre confident dealing with legal frameworks and are eager to learn and grow your expertise across different legal systems. As Mercell continues to expand across Europe knowledge of other European labor regulations like German and/or UK would be a valuable asset.

      • You enjoy working with people across different countries and cultures providing support and guidance to employees and managers.

      • Youre proactive and curious always looking for ways to improve things and solve problems rather than just following set processes.

      • You pay attention to details and like things to be well-structured but you also know how to adapt when things change.

      • You communicate clearly and confidently helping employees and managers understand HR topics in a simple practical way.


        Start date: As soon as possible
        Duration: Full time permanent
        Workplace type: Hybrid 3 days in the office
        Location: Utrecht Netherlands
