Kendrick Recruitment is now seeking an accomplished Executive Chef for a world-class luxury private island in Fiji. This is an exceptional opportunity for a highly skilled culinary professional to lead a talented team in delivering consistently outstanding cuisine in one of the world s most exclusive island settings.
The successful candidate will be responsible for the smooth running of all kitchen operations ensuring the highest standards in food preparation presentation hygiene and cost control. This is a live-in position with a salary negotiable depending on experience.
Key Responsibilities:
Oversee day-to-day kitchen operations across all dining venues and events
Lead train and motivate the culinary team to uphold exceptional food quality and consistency
Develop innovative menus and ensure accurate costing and portion control
Maintain high levels of hygiene and food safety in line with local and international standards
Provide leadership through example promoting professionalism and integrity
Ensure proper purchasing stock rotation waste management and cost control
Supervise grooming and sanitation standards for all kitchen staff
Maintain kitchen equipment and coordinate with purchasing for procurement of supplies
Review food cost reports and ensure financial objectives are met
Work closely with guests to receive feedback and enhance their culinary experience
Coach and mentor team members identifying opportunities for skills development
Conduct regular team briefings schedules and performance reviews
Attend management meetings and collaborate with other departments to ensure seamless operations
Requirements:
Proven experience as an Executive Chef or in a senior culinary leadership role
Exceptional leadership training and team management skills
Strong understanding of international cuisine and fine dining standards
Ability to manage budgets costs and inventory effectively
Knowledge of current food trends presentation and plating techniques
Excellent communication and problem-solving abilities
Food safety and hygiene certification essential
Willingness to relocate and live on-site in a remote island environment
