TITLE: Bookkeeper
POSTION TYPE:CLER
HIRING SPECIFICATIONS:
Required:
1. High School Diploma G.E.D. or HiSet
2. Knowledge of general accounting practices
3. Oral and written communication skills
4. Basic Computer/keyboarding skills
Desired:
1. Previous accounting education/experience
2. Post-secondary education-Associates Degree
BASIC FUNCTION:
General bookkeeping duties. Responsible for all ordering check requests casual
labor and District funds. Responsibilities include customer service to students parents staff and
vendors.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
1. Receipt all incoming funds and pay all financial obligations on the approval of the
supervisor/administrator.
2. Keep an accurate record of payment of all obligations and bank deposits.
3. Prepare all monies for deposit and deliver to the courier.
4. Process all building ordering (administration academic departments athletics clubs/organizations
parent support groups etc.).
5. Maintain a record of casual payroll.
6. Prepare and reconcile cash boxes for ticket sellers at activity events.
7. Record all fees received and deposits into appropriate accounts.
8. Balance accounts monthly with PCard building/department receipts and Direct Pay.
9. Maintain financial accounting records according to the district guidelines (including PCards).
10. Count and write receipts for all money received.
11. Stamp endorsement on all checks.
12. Research checks returned with insufficient funds.
13. Prepare audit reports and collate materials.
14. Clear out and start new files each fiscal year.
15. Monitor department and grant accounts.
16. Work with Athletic Department on all purchases and payment for services of all officials and workers for athletic events.
17. Complete and document month end activities from Business and Finance
18. Assist office staff with telephone calls and visitors as needed.
19. Attend all mandatory trainings and meetings.
20. Attend work on a prompt and regular basis.
21. Maintain confidentiality.
22. Maintain satisfactory and harmonious working relationships with the public students and other employees.
24. Perform other duties as assigned
