Overview

The Manager Advanced Practice Providers (APPs) is responsible for leadership of Advanced Practice Registered Nurses (APRN) and/or Physician Assistants (PA). The APP Manager uses sound human resource and financial management principles and techniques to guide the provision of advanced practice services to patients and families collaborating with APPs to set standards for care quality and safety. The APP Manager supports comprehensive patient and family services through effective participation with the inter-professional team.

New employees must be willing to be vaccinated if found non-immune to measles mumps rubella (MMR) and chicken pox (varicella) and/or without evidence of tetanus diphtheria acellular pertussis (Tdap) vaccination since 2005. If you are selected for this position you will be asked to supply your immunization records as proof of vaccination. If you and have any concerns about receiving these vaccines medical and/or religious exemptions can be further discussed with Human Resources.

Responsibilities

  • Clinical Practice: Expertly provides comprehensive evidence-based advanced practice nursing care based on the physiologic psychosocial and developmental needs of patients and families within the framework of the collaborative practice agreement.
  • Professional Leadership: Provides leadership and oversight of the advanced practice programs and activities of the practice area to support high quality care of patients and families.
  • Organizational Development/CQPI: Leads the application of new knowledge and innovation to advance APP-related improvements at the department and organization level.
  • Resources: Assures the personnel workplace and technology resources necessary for the provision of safe high quality patient and family care.
  • Financial Accountability: Utilizes professional activity and financial data to assist with the APP operating budget; optimizing APP contributions to care and formulating plans for new programs or services.

Qualifications

  • Masters Degree and 5-7 years experience APRN pediatric experience and progressive experience in leadership roles or
  • DNP preferred
  • Licensed RN - MO Registered Nurse Multistate License Missouri required upon hire
  • Licensed RN - Kansas Registered Nurse Multistate License Kansas required upon hire
  • Successful completion of national board certification in one of the following: Certified Nurse Midwife OR Required Upon Hire
  • OR Certified Nurse Practitioner (CNP) MO & KS Required Upon Hire
  • OR Certified Clinical Nurse Specialist MO & KS Required Upon Hire
  • APRN board certification congruent with population and practice setting (see policy statement: Advanced Practice Registered Nurse Roles and Practice Setting) Required Upon Hire
  • Refer to Nursing and Advanced Practice Provider Licensure and Certification policy for required Life Support Certifications Required Upon Hire
  • Specialty Certification relevant to units patient population (determined by Director) Preferred
