POSITION SUMMARY
The Director of IT Network & Infrastructure leads the strategic planning development and management of the districts technology infrastructure to support both academic and operational goals. This role is responsible for designing and maintaining secure scalable and future-ready systemsincluding networks devices and digital platformswhile ensuring equitable access to technology across all schools. The Director oversees IT support operations device lifecycle management cybersecurity and systems integration fostering collaboration across departments to ensure that infrastructure decisions enhance teaching learning and administrative efficiency.
RESPONSIBILITIES AND DUTIES
- Establish and communicate a long-term vision for IT infrastructure that supports the districts academic and operational goals.
- Stay current with emerging technologies cybersecurity protocols and infrastructure trends to proactively guide the district toward innovative and future-ready solutions.
- Advocate for sustainable scalable and equitable access to technology across all schools.
- Foster a culture of continuous improvement and collaboration between IT operational and instructional teams.
- Ensure that infrastructure decisions enhance teaching learning and district operations.
- Design implement and maintain a secure reliable and high-performing network infrastructure including LAN WAN Wi-Fi and cloud services.
- Lead infrastructure modernization projects including server upgrades fiber expansions and data center transitions.
- Oversee network monitoring and analytics systems to ensure performance and proactive issue resolution.
- Manage the full lifecycle of all district-owned devices including student and staff hardware classroom tech and peripherals.
- Set hardware standards and ensure equitable device distribution across campuses.
- Establish efficient systems for device deployment asset tracking repair and replacement.
- Supervise district-wide IT support teams ensuring timely resolution of hardware software and connectivity issues.
- Implement ticketing protocols to improve efficiency and user satisfaction.
- Lead and manage the rostering of all students and staff to digital learning platforms assessment systems instructional software and operation software.
- Ensure seamless integration between the student information system (SIS) and all learning platforms.
- Maintain up-to-date records and automation protocols to ensure accuracy and timely updates.
- Develop and enforce cybersecurity policies incident response protocols and data privacy safeguards.
- Monitor threats and vulnerabilities using current tools and practices and implement multi-layered defenses.
- Ensure all network and system practices are aligned with FERPA CIPA COPPA and relevant state/federal laws.
- Work closely with district departments to ensure IT systems and infrastructure support academic and administrative initiatives.
- Coordinate infrastructure upgrades and expansions with minimal disruption to instruction.
- Actively participate in strategic planning for instructional technology digital equity and campus tech integration.
- Forecast technology needs and guide cost-effective scalable purchasing strategies.
- Leverage E-Rate grants and funding opportunities to maximize resources.
- Maintain documentation and continuity plans for all infrastructure systems.
- All other duties as assigned.
QUALIFICATIONS
- Bachelors degree preferred.
- Experience working with diverse student populations parents and other stakeholders
OTHER POSITION REQUIREMENTS
- Ability to adjust the eye to bring an object into focus; judge distance (close and distant); reach with arms extended and use hands to manipulate the keyboard smart board and other classroom technology.
- Ability to lift/carry up to 25 pounds including but not limited to books paper and instructional materials/supplies.
- This position requires frequent standing walking sitting bending kneeling and/or the ability to be mobile.
- Ability to travel throughout the district and city as needed by means of personal/private or public transportation in compliance with the states department of motor vehicle and/or public transportation laws.
