Job Description Summary:
Landscape Crew Member 1 (ATHLETIC FIELD)The purpose of this position is to perform a variety of Athletic Field maintenance on City property and complete tasks as assigned by the Sports Turf Manager and field staff. Performs other duties as required. Position is seasonal and for the duration of the summer.

LANDSCAPE CREW MEMBER (ATHLETIC FIELD)
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Assists in the cleaning and maintenance of Athletic Fields and parks. May include:
Field Maintenance
Athletic Field layout and painting
Preparing areas for rentals/events
Turf maintenance
Hardscape cleaning and maintenance
Vandalism repair/removal
Horticulture maintenance
Waste and litter removal
Minor repair of buildings and structures.
Snow removal as needed
Irrigation repair and maintenance
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
Must be 18 years of age or older.
Ability to perform a wide range of physical and manual tasks in and outdoor environment under a variety of weather conditions.
Ability to work hours that are flexible and include weekends and evenings.
Ability to evaluate conditions in assigned area and make judgments related to safety.
Ability to provide excellent customer service.
Valid Drivers License and ability to maintain acceptable motor vehicle record.
Have and maintain acceptable background information including criminal conviction history.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
Effective interpersonal skills including conflict resolution skills.
Ability to keep accurate records organize information supplies and equipment and follow established procedures.
Ability to operate a variety of hand and power tools.
Ability to operate riding mowers tractors truck and trailers and other landscape equipment.
Ability to provide information and instruction to individuals and groups.
Ability to work alone under general supervision
REQUIRED EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE
(zero to one) 0-1 year of related experience.

Supervision Received: Sports Turf Manager
Supervision Exercised: None
WORKING CONDITIONS AND REQUIREMENTS
Physical and mental effort: Ability to perform a wide range of strenuous physical and manual tasks in an outdoor environment. Physical ability to stand walk and kneel. Able to use a variety of long handled manual and power tools; and to operate equipment while working in and around moving traffic. Upper body strength to lift up to 40 pounds on a daily basis and over 75 pounds on an occasional basis. Sufficient clarity of speech and hearing or other communication capabilities that permits the employee to communicate effectively in person.
Work Environment: Frequently works outside with an exposure to a variety of weather conditions. Works in a setting subject to continuous interruptions and background noises.
