Job Description

ABOUT THE POSITION


The County of Riverside Fire Service Center is seeking applicants for a Truck Driver-Delivery position for the Perris office. Under general supervision the incumbent will drive loads and unload vehicles in the delivery of County property to specified facilities; and do other work as required. This position is assigned to loading unloading routing and driving a truck (e.g. 40 box truck pick-up truck and or a sprinter van) in the process of making deliveries. The most competitive applicants will possess experience with Microsoft applications to include outlook excel power point and data entry.

The Truck Driver-Delivery classification is assigned the loading unloading routing and driving of a truck in the process of making deliveries. The Truck Driver-Delivery differs from Equipment Operator I in that the former does not drive and operate heavy construction equipment such as dump trucks water trucks and tractors. The Truck Driver-Delivery is further distinguished from the Stock Clerk in that the latters primary responsibility is the receiving and storing of goods and materials.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS





License/Certificate:Possession of a valid California Drivers License. Desired candidates will possess either a class A or class B License.


For those positions designated by the Department of Transportation (DOT) as safety-sensitive applicants are required to complete a (DOT) mandated alcohol and drug screening records check. Reference checks from former DOT regulated employers are also required. (A positive test or refusal to test during the past two (2) years will disqualify an applicant from consideration for County employment). Applicants for safety-sensitive positions must submit an H-6 Department of Motor Vehicles (DMV) driving history before hire.

Employees in safety-sensitive positions are subject to DOT alcohol/drug testing on a random basis or for reasonable suspicion.
