The Database Administrator will oversee the daily operations of the database to ensure that they continue to meet their defined availability targets. Your role will involve on-call rota to support the products 24x7. You will report into the DBA Team Lead.
What you will do:
- Investigate the cause of queries/problems and recommending appropriate solutions including system impact analysis
- Implementation support and running of production schema changes within all Experian UK DBMS systems
- Contribute to the production database systems meeting agreed availability targets working with EITS System DBAs
- Schedule and support for routine DBMS application data housekeeping activities within Experian UK
- Deliver to agreed time cost and quality whilst controlling scope
- Escalation of issues to line manager with recommended solutions. Action solutions where authorization permits.
- Provision of technical updates regarding own activities to management others in the team department and other divisions
Qualifications :
What you will bring:
- At least 3 years experience administering Oracle RDBMS in a production/ operational environment
- Fluent English
- Knowledge of Oracle Disaster Recovery and High Availability technologies (RMAN RAC Dataguard)
- Experience working within an ITIL style process framework (Change Incident and Problem Management)
- Familiarity with Oracle RDBMS features (Multitenancy/ Db Vault/ EBR/ Performance and Tuning) is desirable
- Good communication within the team or project group both in sharing experience and in being able to ask for and receive assistance
- The ability to explain solutions to technical and non-technical audiences
