Job Description

Essex North Shore is seeking a Engineering and Robotics Teacherto join theEngineering Department for the 2025-2026 school year. Candidates should possess robust knowledge in the areas of electronics computer programmingroboticsand engineering.

  • Candidates should be licensed or licensable by the Department of Elementary and Secondary Education.
  • Satisfactory CORI SAFIS DCF Central Registry and SORI required.
  • Bilingual preferred.
  • General OSHA 30-Hour certification preferred but required within three years of employment.
  • OSHA Train-the-Trainer certification preferred but required within five years of employment.

This position is subject to the provisions of the collective bargaining agreement in effect between the District and HTF. A copy of this agreement can be located here.

Engineering and Robotics Teacher Teacher

REPORTS TO: STEAM Coordinator

PERFORMANCE RESPONSIBILITIES:

  1. Operate multiple types of equipment including robots CNC machines laser cutters plasma cutters etc.
  2. Create engaging lessons in an interactive applied program area.
  3. Map each grade curriculum to the State Frameworks.
  4. Provide instruction in the content in accordance with the Massachusetts Vocational-Technical Frameworks in the specified career area.
  5. Enforce all OSHA safety regulations within the career education setting.
  6. Instruct students in the field when participating in outside projects.
  7. Document student performance student behavior and student achievement within the career education setting.
  8. Provides review and reinforcement of new concepts; supports students in the completion of their assigned tasks.
  9. Demonstrate knowledge of students IEPs as well as the accommodations and modifications necessary for student success; modify assignments tests and quizzes in collaboration with special educators if required.
  10. Develop resources for students to be successful such as models graphic organizers and copies of class notes video clips demonstrations etc.
  11. Participate as a member of the career area department; collaborate with teachers within the department.
  12. Collaborate with teachers in academic disciplines to facilitate learning activities that are cross-curricular and project-based.
  13. Collaborate with the Cooperative Education Coordinator to place students in their career area.
  14. Maintain documentation including student performance behavior progress data notation of student absences/tardies and conversations with parents and administrators.
  15. Provide content support outside of the general education classroom as necessary.
  16. Integrate technology into the curriculum.
  17. Respond to any correspondence both oral and written that comes from a parent or guardian.
  18. Participate in conferences and meetings when appropriate; contribute observations and ideas.
  19. Attend Advisory Board meetings twice per year; attend Open House.
  20. Keep current with changes in your career area; collaborate with Advisory Board members.
  21. Accept additional responsibilities as may be required under the direction of theSTEAM Coordinator or their designee.
