People come to Northern for trains they can rely on. But behind the scenes it takes a skilled team of analysts to keep things running smoothly. As a Performance Insight Analyst youd help us spot the story in the data and use it to make better decisions right across our business.
Whether its supporting our senior leaders collaborating with industry partners or responding to the Department for Transport youll play a key role in turning raw numbers into real insights. From revenue growth to timetable planning your work would directly shape how we serve millions of customers across the North.
What youll be doing
Youll join our Performance team to:
Produce insightful analysis that highlights key trends opportunities and risks
Present your findings in a way thats easy to understand whatever the audience
Identify valuable projects with our wider team helping us make informed decisions
Scope and deliver business intelligence (BI) solutions based on stakeholder needs
Set realistic timelines and communication plans for delivery
Use tools like Alteryx to process and streamline data
Be a first point of contact for our dashboard environments and visualisation tools like Tableau
About you
Youre someone who loves digging into data and spotting the patterns others miss. You enjoy building great relationships and can explain complex findings clearly whether youre chatting to a technician or a senior leader.
Heres what youll bring:
A degree or equivalent experience
At least one year of using tools like Snowflake R Power BI Tableau or Alteryx to support meaningful data projects
Experience in data analysis and processing
A track record of working across teams and engaging with a range of stakeholders
A proactive mindset with a flair for creativity and innovation
Railway knowledge would be advantageous though not essential
