Position Summary:
Are you looking for the opportunity to grow into a Director of Business Development within a few years Are you a self-motivated professional looking to make a significant impact in business development Join Marous Brothers Construction (MBC) as a Business Development Manager! In this role youll be responsible for creating pursuing proposing and closing new business opportunities. Youll work under the direction of the Director of Business Development maintaining our client database scheduling travel conducting market research and interfacing with our Marketing Department.
Key Responsibilities:
As a Business Development Manager at MBC you will be deeply involved in every phase of our sales process:
Business Development (90%)
- Make initial and follow-up contacts with potential clients working closely with the President and Director of Business Development.
- Qualify and rate leads using established criteria and maintain an accurate project pipeline database.
- Work with potential clients to define their program present alternative project delivery methods and define the overall scope of their projects.
- Prepare written proposals review speculative preliminary design drawings understand budget estimates and make presentations to potential clients.
- Attend public meetings and hearings to obtain necessary project approvals.
- Assist clients in obtaining project funding sources.
- Meet weekly with the President and Director of Business Development to discuss upcoming projects prospects and new sales strategies.
- Develop new market niches prepare and send mailings to niche-specific prospects and focus efforts in specific sectors.
- Attend professional seminars and convey pertinent highlights to staff.
Business Development Other Procedures (10%)
- Work with the Director of Business Development and President to produce standardized procedures manuals for the Business Development staff.
Qualifications:
- Education: Bachelors Degree or equivalent experience.
- Knowledge Required: Understanding of the construction industry strong negotiation and relationship skills.
- Experience Required: Minimum 12 years of experience in the design development and construction industry.
- Skills/Abilities: Excellent presentation and interpersonal skills; ability to effectively communicate with people at all levels of an organization. Must possess a combination of technical expertise and business acumen. Familiarity with various project delivery models is essential.
