The Assistant Professor for Criminal Justice will demonstrate a strong commitment to excellence in undergraduate teaching scholarly research and service. This role includes teaching a range of courses in criminal justice advising students conducting research and engaging in university and community service.
Responsibilities
- Teach undergraduate and/or graduate courses in criminal justice such as criminology criminal law policing courts corrections and research methods.
- Develop and deliver innovative student-centered instruction in traditional online or hybrid formats.
- Advise and mentor criminal justice majors including assisting with internships and career guidance.
- Maintain an active research agenda in the field of criminal justice or criminology with a record of (or potential for) scholarly publications and conference presentations.
- Participate in curriculum development assessment activities and program reviews.
- Contribute to departmental college and university committees and initiatives.
- Engage with local criminal justice agencies and organizations to foster community partnerships and student opportunities.
- Support the universitys mission values and commitment to diversity equity and inclusion.
Education
- A Ph.D. in Criminal Justice Criminology or a closely related field (ABD candidates will be considered with expected completion by start date).
- Demonstrated teaching experience at the college or university level.
- Must be able to lift 10 pounds.
