Salary:Currently $49638.36-$92138.12 (DOE) prorated based upon FTE still being negotiated for 2025-2026.
Insurance:Generous Health dental and vision contribution from the district currently up to $2202 (based upon family coverage) prorated based upon FTE TBD for2025-2026.
PERS Retirement:The district assumes and pays the 6% average employee contribution to the Oregon PERS system.

Position Summary:
Klamath Union High School is seeking a creative and dynamic part-time Graphic Design Teacher to deliver engaging instruction in digital design visual communication and related media arts. The ideal candidate will foster technical skills and artistic expression in students while preparing them for further education and careers in creative fields. This position emphasizes collaboration innovation and real-world application in a supportive learning environment.
Key Responsibilities:
Plan and deliver standards-based graphic design lessons aligned with state and school curriculum.
Teach foundational and advanced skills in Adobe Creative Suite (Photoshop Illustrator InDesign) and other digital design tools.
Guide students in the creation of digital art branding projects layouts and multimedia presentations.
Foster creativity critical thinking and professional design practices.
Manage student projects portfolios and participation in contests exhibitions or school media.
Provide individualized instruction to meet a range of skill levels and artistic interests.
Collaborate with staff on interdisciplinary projects and school media initiatives.
Maintain a safe inclusive and inspiring classroom environment.
Qualifications:
Bachelors degree in Graphic Design Visual Arts Art Education or a related field.
Valid Oregon teaching license with appropriate CTE or Arts endorsement preferred (or ability to obtain).
Professional experience in graphic design or digital media strongly preferred.
Proficiency with industry-standard design software and technologies.
Strong organizational communication and classroom management skills.
Ability to inspire creativity and support diverse learning styles.
Work Environment:
Work primarily takes place in a digital media lab/classroom environment.
Collaborate with school leadership arts and career technical education (CTE) teams.
Attend meetings exhibitions and professional development as needed.
Encourage student participation in school media yearbook marketing or community design projects.
