Compensation:
Commensurate with salary range on the DCPS Salary Schedule for class code 7318
Hours Per Day: Varies based on assignment
Contracted Days: Varies based on assignment
QUALIFICATIONS
Required:
High School Diploma or G.E.D and
Associates Degree OR
Minimum of 48 college credit hours OR
Pass a state approved test
Must be capable for working with students who may have physical intellectual emotional and/or behavioral exceptionalities.
Knowledge Of:
Basic computer skills including use of mouse and keyboard to navigate computer e-mail and websites
Classroom management techniques
Documentation and record-keeping techniques
Communication skills
Work cooperatively in a team environment
Policies and objectives of assigned program and activities
JOB DESCRIPTION
Job Summary:
Assist teachers in designated instructional non-instructional management and clerical tasks. The variety of activities will be determined by the needs of the students. Aides may conduct community-based instruction and classroom activities apart from the physical presence of the teacher with appropriate direction and supervision. Ability to work with students who exhibit challenging behaviors.
