Who You Are:We are seeking a dedicated and skilled Fleet Specialist to maintain our non-medical transport fleet. The ideal candidate will have at least 3 years of experience in vehicle maintenance and at least 1 year of fleet operations. You should be comfortable with technology systems including Microsoft Office and using a cell phone or tablet to document work. You must be able to communicate professionally in person over the phone and through email. You are a team player and can conduct basic vehicle maintenance cleaning and repair assessments. Most importantly you are passionate about helping our patients to have safe and reliable transportation.
What You Will Do:The Fleet Specialist will work with the rest of the Fleet Team to ensure the fleet is managed efficiently safely and cost-effectively while providing exceptional customer service to colleagues vendors and customers. This role requires basic vehicle maintenance skills a strong sense of urgency and organizational skills. You will also receive vehicle repair requests verify issues and enter work orders into our vehicle management system. This role reports to the Operations Manager Fleet.
Key Responsibilities:
- Fleet Maintenance:Conduct basic vehicle maintenance cleaning and assessments in accordance with work orders.
- Issue Escalation:Escalate needed repairs than cannot be performed by the Fleet Team to the Fleet Foreman.
- Vehicle Transportation:Deliver and pick up vehicles to/from third party vendors for vehicle service and maintenance.
- Issues Documentation:Receive vehicle repair requests verify issues and enter the requests into the vehicle management system.
- Customer Service:Communicate professionally and effectively with Transporters Leads and other GMT staff or vendors to verify vehicle issues and provide repair time estimates.
- Preventive Maintenance:Proactively inspect vehicles for repairs and cleaning. Submit work orders for identified issues.
- Emergency Management:Respond to vehicle breakdowns accidents or emergencies and support the safety of our patients Transporters and vehicles.
Qualifications:
- 3 years of experience in vehicle maintenance and 1 year in fleet operations.
- Must be able to conduct basic vehicle maintenance including but not limited to: changing a flat tire adding fluids to vehicles jump starting a vehicle and changing a car battery.
- Able to operate a two-way radio and GPS.
- Must pass the Physical Ability Test.
- Able to lift a minimum of 125 pounds.
- Able to use Microsoft office and computer equipment.
- Excellent communication and organizational skills.
- Proven ability to work in a team manage multiple tasks and prioritize effectively in a fast-paced environment.
- Valid drivers license and clean driving record (CDL preferred but not required).
- Ability to work flexible hours and be on call for emergencies as required.
Preferred Skills:
- Associates or Bachelors degree in Logistics Automotive Technology or a related field.
- Experience with non-medical transportation services or a similar industry.
