About the Team:

Lambeths Integrated Childrens Commissioning team delivers commissioning functions on behalf of Lambeth Council and South East London ICB. The portfolio of work covered across the service is broad and includes all Early Years and Parenting Services including the national Family Hub Start for Life programme; services that support Vulnerable Children including Children Looked After alongside universal and targeted Youth and Play services; and services to support children with Special Educational Needs and Disabilities as well as childrens Physical Emotional and Mental Health and Well Being. The SEND and Health team of which this post will be a part lead is comprised of a Lead Commissioner Commissioning Managers Officers and Support Officers to deliver a programme of work that is critical to the Council and the ICB with close links with Childrens Social Care Education and Health services as well as with private and voluntary sector providers.

About the Role:

Lambeth Council is seeking to appoint a Commissioning Manager to deliver the Emotional and Mental Health portfolio of work within its Integrated Childrens Commissioning team. This position will take a lead role in the delivery of programmes of work across both the council and Southeast London ICB.

The successful post holder will have a strong understanding of the Emotional and Mental Health provision to improve outcomes for children and young people.. They will work across the council and the ICB and recognise the value and importance of integrated working and join commissioning to improve outcomes for children young people and their families in a challenging financial climate.

Key areas of work and responsibilities for this role will include oversight and delivery of key commissioning strands related to childrens physical emotional and mental health and well being as part of the wider commissioning team. You will play a critical role in ensuring delivery of Lambeths Local Transformation plan for children and young peoples mental health designing and shaping the service offer to broaden reach and overcome some of the barriers Lambeths most vulnerable residents may experience in getting the support they need at the stage that is needed.

To be considered for interview your CV and supporting statement will clearly evidence:

Significant experience in the design of services and a knowledge and understanding of commissioning approaches.

Very strong written and verbal communication skills and the ability to prepare clear information to meet the needs of different audiences and to support effective decision making.

An understanding of the challenges and inequalities experienced by some Lambeth residents and a clear commitment to overcome these through the co-production design and commissioning of high quality data driven and evidence based services that provide best value while meeting need and building resilience.

Experience in managing people resources and multiple and complex programmes of work

A commitment to working in partnership and an understanding of the valuable role played by all partners

Budget management skills to enable you to manage and oversee multi-million oud budgets in line with ICB and Council requirements

An ability to motivate and lead your team and to support their learning and development

A commitment to your own continued professional development.
