Job Description

QUALIFICATIONS

  • Bachelors Degree required. Masters Degree preferred
  • Five years teaching in the field of Special Education required
  • Valid Texas Teacher Certificate
  • Specialized knowledge in transition and autism preferred
  • Recommended by the Executive Director
  • Such alternatives to the above qualifications as the Executive Director may find appropriate and acceptable

CENTER RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Process all personal timekeeping travel reporting and other paperwork in a timely manner
  • Maintain professional attire and grooming appropriate for specific job position.
  • Demonstrate punctual and regular attendance on the job
  • Reports for work ready to perform responsibilities
  • Supports the mission goals and objectives of the ESC
  • Upholds and adheres to safety rules and policies of the ESC
  • Performs professional responsibilities as required by ESC policies processes and procedures
  • Meets proficiency levels of required technology skills as outlined by supervisor
  • Incorporate appropriate technology in daily work and exhibits continual growth in technologies as outlined by supervisor
  • Exhibit professionalism in all situations at the ESC
  • Develop collaborative and positive relationships with schools and co-workers
  • Exhibit planning and leadership on assigned tasks and projects
  • Ability to take initiative and exhibit innovative thinking
  • Keep supervisor advised of all pertinent financial and operations business
  • Ability to handle constructive criticism in a positive manner
  • Evidence of following-up and following-through with services
  • Evidence of professional loyalty
  • Other duties assigned by supervisor

DEPARTMENT RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Ability to handle and see to completion multiple projects simultaneously and on deadline

  • Upholds confidentiality of the information processed in all work if required
  • Attends all called meetings including departmental staff meetings work team meetings and general staff meetings

  • Analyzes metrics evaluates outcomes and adjusts optimize impact of work

POSITION RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Provide supports for Free Appropriate Public Education (FAPE)
  • Provide Special Education Support alongside General Education in the areas of MTSS (RTI Behavior) Tier 2/3 Positive Behavior Intervention and Support (PBIS) School Climate Restorative Practices and Social Emotional Learning to help support students with behavioral challenges in Schoolwide and Classroom Environments
  • Provide High Quality Technical Assistance and Professional Development to LEAs in the areas of Transition and Autism
  • Evaluate the impact of training products and services on the performance of students receiving special education services
  • Complete and maintain SBIEP training TOT and coaching requirements to oversee the required metrics and Fidelity of Implementation rubric requirements
  • Create track maintain and successfully meet goal metrics for assigned network/initiative activities Transition and Autism
  • Collaborate with department staff to maintain track and report SECIP goal activity for quarterly reporting
  • Participate in designated local and state (e.g. networks) professional development activities share information with ESC staff and appropriate regional personnel
  • Act as the first point of contact for LEAs parents agencies and other stakeholders in the areas of Autism and Transition procedures for students grade ECSE - Graduation

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS

  • Travel (meaning to drive ones own vehicle) to and from LEAs to fulfill program and project specifications are required. Out of region travel may also be required.
  • Coordinate and deliver effective training staff development and technical assistance in areas pertinent to the program or project.
  • Process required paperwork and reports in a timely manner
  • Model effective uses of technology in personal productivity and instructional applications

SPECIAL ASSIGNMENTS

  • Additional projects as assigned by supervisor or Executive Director

TERMS OF EMPLOYMENT

  • Up to 226 working days
  • This is an at-will employment position.

In the event of an economic slump a reduction-in-force may be necessary. Employees will be notified in writing.
