SUMMARY:
Under general supervision serves as the lead technical specialist for the design implementation strategic management and ongoing support of the districts physical security technology systems. This includes access control camera surveillance (CCTV) and audio enhancement systems ensuring their alignment with IT security policies operational needs and overall IT infrastructure. This role will lead projects related to these systems manage vendor relationships develop and enforce policies and provide expert guidance and support to ensure the security integrity and optimal performance of these critical district services.

JOB SPECIFICATIONS
EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE:
Bachelors degree in Information Technology Computer Science Security Systems Technology or a related field is preferred. A two-year degree or equivalent training/certifications combined with significant experience will be considered. Minimum of five (5) years of progressive experience in the design implementation and administration of integrated physical security systems (including access control CCTV/surveillance and ideally audio enhancement systems) within an IT environment. Experience should include project leadership vendor management and policy development. Experience in supporting technology systems in a public K-12 environment is preferred. Any equivalent combination of training certifications and experience that provides the required knowledge skills and abilities will be considered.

LANGUAGE SKILLS:
Ability to read analyze and interpret general business periodicals professional journals technical procedures complex technical documentation instructional manuals safety rules operating and maintenance instructions and governmental regulations. Ability to write comprehensive reports business correspondence system documentation and procedure manuals. Ability to effectively prepare and present technical information and respond to questions from groups of administrators staff vendors and the general public.
MATHEMATICAL SKILLS:
Ability to add subtract multiply and divide in units of measurement using whole numbers common fractions and decimals. Ability to work with mathematical concepts such as probability and statistical inference and in the display and interpretation of data. Ability to apply concepts of statistical analysis fractions percentages ratios and proportions to practical situations including system capacity planning and budget management.
REASONING ABILITY:
Ability to interpret and apply common sense understanding in carrying out complex instructions furnished in written oral diagram or schedule form. Ability to analyze complex information identify critical issues and use logic to address work-related issues and problems often involving multiple integrated systems. Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete and abstract variables in situations where only limited standardization exists. Ability to interpret an extensive variety of technical instructions in mathematical or diagram form and deal with several abstract and concrete variables. Strong analytical and problem-solving skills are essential for system design troubleshooting and security incident response.

Ability to self-monitor and manage multiple complex tasks and projects while working individually and as a leader/member of a group. Ability to submit all requested reports and documentation in a timely manner and in accordance with scheduled deadlines. The position requires meeting deadlines and interacting with diverse stakeholders. Some extended hours and response to multiple demands from several people are frequently required of the employee particularly during system implementations or incidents.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS:

Physical demands require routine lifting of items weighing up to 50 pounds (e.g. servers cameras control panels) and occasional lifting/moving of items up to 75 pounds. Routine local travel between district sites is required; no overnight travel is required with the exception of conferences or specialized training. Duties are conducted indoors and outdoors sometimes in network closets or areas with varying environmental conditions. Duties require constant work with computers and monitors and interaction with electronic and electrical equipment creating possible eyestrain and requiring adherence to safety procedures. May require working at heights (e.g. on ladders for camera or speaker installation/maintenance) or in confined spaces.
While performing the duties of this job the employee is regularly required to sit stand walk talk listen use hands to finger handle or feel travel from building to other sites and/or reach with hands and arms. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision distance vision color vision peripheral vision depth perception and the ability to adjust focus.

The noise level in the work environment for this position varies. When presenting to a group or working in an office the noise level may be moderate to relatively quiet. When working in server rooms network closets or during system installations the noise level may be louder. Occasional exposure to dust or construction environments during system installations or upgrades.

The terms of employment detailed in this job description are based on full time employment during the school year. Conditions of employment are adjusted for part time employees or individuals who are hired for less than an entire school year.
