Job Title: Patient Care Assistant

Location: 608 Vets Solihull (B91 1AA) travel to our two other practices may be required.

Hours: 37.5 hours per week the role is part of a rota with three other PCAs that involves 1 weekend in 3 a week of 7am starts and a week of 9pm finishes.

608 Vets based in Solihull are recruiting for a motivated and experienced Patient Care Assistant to join their team! In this role you will have the opportunity to develop and enhance your skills working in a primary care vets. Patient Care Assistants are an essential part of the Practice Team. Working alongside the clinical team and the client care team the ideal candidate will have a good background in animal handling with previous veterinary care experience preferred.

High standards of patient care and premises management need to be maintained at all times and the PCAs are key to achieving this.

The right candidate will have an Animal Care qualification and want to ensure the highest standard of care is provided for our patients and clients. The role is varied but includes:

  • Giving oral medication under supervision
  • Completing paperwork to ensure accurate monitoring of all in-patient care
  • Appropriate husbandry and care of patients as directed
  • Deep Cleaning kennels the hospital and other practice areas
  • Operating the laundry equipment
  • Checking stock levels and ordering supplies as necessary
  • Supporting the Clinical and Reception team
  • Answering calls and assisting owners
  • Operating lab equipment to run tests
  • Supporting nurse team as required

Training will of course be provided.
