Corporate Veterinarian
Guelph Ontario
Full-time - Permanent

We are currently seeking a strategic-minded and dedicated Corporate Veterinarian to join our team. Reporting directly to the Vice President Operations this role oversees global activities related to the health and reproduction of male and female animals to maximize results in bovine germplasm. In addition this role oversees bio-security and welfare programs for our global production centers.

What youll do:

  • Oversee herd health management program and ensurepreventive and curative clinical actions are administered to animals to maintain positive health and reproductive status.
  • Provide guidance and monitor resolution of more complex fertility and animal health concerns.
  • Define the ongoing management of Semex biosecurity program and protocols including oversight of application in all production centres.
  • Conduct internal bio security audits and represent Semex for domestic and international audits.
  • Broad cross-function collaboration from product development production R&I commercial and regulatory.
  • Management of veterinarians and animal health technicians within Canadian semen production centres.
  • Monitor animal and process performance using established KPIs and proactively address any deviations from targets to ensure operational excellence.

What you need to succeed:

  • Exceptional communication skills (written and verbal) with the ability to effectively collaborate with both technical and non-technical colleagues.
  • Ability to work in a self-directed manner and comfort with problem solving and decision making.
  • Ability to think strategically analyze trends and develop forward-thinking plans to support organizational growth.
  • Demonstrate leadership experience preferably in managing cross-functional teams or high-impact initiatives.
  • Demonstrate the ability to apply analytical thinking to optimize processes solve challenges and improve outcomes.
  • Strong computer skills and comfort with MS office products.
  • Ability to travel regularly within Canada/North America and occasional international travel.

Education and experience:

  • Doctorate in Veterinary Medicine with CVO license
  • 7-10 years related experience specifically with large animals
