A DAY IN THE LIFE:

As a Market Access Manager (MAM) your main responsibility will be to secure and maintain broad coverage access and optimal reimbursement for Tandem products across key regional payers including commercial Managed Medicare and NHS Integrated Care Boards (ICBs).

MAMs develop and execute market access strategies to promote the adoption of the companys medical devices within their assigned region. This role involves interacting with various levels of regional ICBs such as Commissioning Managers Clinical Leads for Diabetes Patient Engagement Coordinators and Population Health teams.

As the primary point of contact for payer-related account management and clinical business activities the MAM will identify opportunities to influence payer medical policies and reduce administrative burdens.

Market Access Strategy Development

  • Designs and implements regional market access strategies to secure access reimbursement and coverage for Tandems medical devices and supplies.
  • Analyzes regional healthcare systems reimbursement policies and ICB Medical Policy requirements to identify opportunities risks and impact reduction of burden.
  • Prioritizes and develops key payor contacts as a foundation for contractual relationship medical policy impact and payer partnership activities.
  • Keeps records updated and available around all business dealings and payer information required within assigned regions.

Stakeholder Engagement

  • Builds and maintains relationships with key stakeholders including payers government agencies and clinical decision-makers.
  • Conducts meetings and presentations to articulate the clinical and economic value of the companys Device within assigned regions.

Internal Collaboration

  • Partners with HEOR and Medical Affairs to generate and present evidence demonstrating the cost-effectiveness medical policy evolution and value of the companys medical devices.
  • Collaborates with sales marketing HEOR Medical affairs and regulatory teams to align market access strategies with broader business objectives.
  • Prepares weekly and monthly sales reports as requested by Sales Management within required deadlines.
  • Serves as the internal expert and primary point of contact on all payer related issues within the assigned region(s); ensures relevant and timely payer coverage information is communicated to appropriate internal and external stakeholders; provides input and feedback regarding contracting strategies and ensures that all contracting governance requirements are met.
  • Acts as a strategic partner for field teams identifying opportunities for growth and regional alignment.
  • Supports cross-functional teams as a Market Access partner offering tailored support around reimbursement market access topics and demonstrates effective communication.

Market Intelligence

  • Monitors and reports on regional healthcare policy developments issues payer trends and competitive landscape.
  • Utilizes market insights to adapt strategies and ensure alignment with regional needs.
  • Analyzes local access issues and opportunities in regional healthcare landscape.

Product Knowledge and Strategy

  • Develops and maintains deep understanding of Tandem product disease state clinical data commercialization strategy and further customer engagement by providing deep insights/expertise around the disease continuum and customer insight on trends market conditions and changes in formulary/medical policies.
  • Analyzes develops and executes on payer strategy and initiatives removing access barriers new and expanded coverage for product portfolio
  • Proactively identifies and recommends new payer growth opportunities for the product portfolio
  • Identifies evidence gaps market access requirements provides input product value propositions and outcomes needed to support regional payor impacts.

EXTRA AWESOME:

  • Strong understanding of healthcare economics market access fundamentals and stakeholder engagement within the medical device industry.
  • Bachelors degree in a life science business or marketing or a combination of equivalent education and applicable job experience.
  • Healthcare Market Access experience preferred
  • Diabetes and medical device industry experience strongly preferred.
