Job Title: Patient Care Assistant
Salary: 24043.50per annum
Location: Garston Frome
Job Type: Fixed term contract for 6 months full-time

Hours: 37.5h per week.

We are looking for a pro-active Patient Care Assistant to join our fantastic team at our Garston branch in Frome. In this role you will have the opportunity to work alongside a friendly and supportive team of Registered Veterinary Nurses Client Care Team Members and Vet Surgeons. Patient Care Assistants work in all areas of practice and it will be necessary to accept instruction from a variety of people.

You will be responsible for preparing theatre for surgeries cleaning and maintaining the quality of our instruments assist with patient care and husbandry running in-house lab tests packaging biological samples and assisting with the smooth running of the practice.

This role is a full-time role working 37.5 per week on a fixed-term contract for 6 months. Shifts will start as early as 7.30am Monday - Friday with occasional weekend work. 1 in 6 weeks will be twilight shifts.

Duties will also include but are not limited to:

  • Cleaning disinfection and preparation of patient accommodation.
  • Actively maintain the hospital and follow infection control procedures. This will include sterilising and deep cleaning among other duties.
  • Assist with reception and client care including answering the telephone dealing with enquiries booking procedures and taking payments.
  • Assist Veterinary Surgeons Veterinary Nurses and support staff where and when required.
  • Work and communicate effectively with colleagues and clients. Demonstrate the ability to be reliable adaptable understanding and empathetic.
