Job Description
Job Title: Adjunct Professor of Art Design
Reporting Relationship: Chair/Dean of Department
Department: Art Design
Campus Location: Beard Art Center Marion IN campus
Duties and Responsibilities
- Attend and lead all required class sessions
- Promptly assess student coursework and submit via the universitys learning management system
- Coordinate with Division Chair and/or Academic Dean regarding classroom or student issues in a timely manner
- Provide input into course curriculum as appropriate
Qualifications:According to Indiana Wesleyan University employment policy all employees must possess a strong Christian commitment and adhere to the standards outlined in the IWU Community Lifestyle Statement.
Education
- Candidates will ideally hold a graduate degree in the field of art or design
- Substantial professional experience in the subject(s) to be taught may be considered in lieu of a masters degree
Experience
- Candidates must demonstrate a strong record of teaching scholarship service and dedication to the ideals of liberal learning as well as an educational philosophy based on the centrality of Jesus Christ and the integration of faith and learning
Required Skills
- Candidates must possess:
- strong skills of effective communication and pedagogy
- creativity and critical-analytical thinking
- curriculum design and development
- instructional technology
- organization and planning
- time management
