JOB SUMMARY:

The SOAR Summer Site Coordinator supports the daily operations and implementation of the SOAR program in close coordination with the Program Director.

The purpose of the 21st Century Community Learning Centers grant is to provide services and activities that help students improve in academics attendance behavior promotion rates and graduation rates. The 21st CCLC Site Coordinator/ Program Director manages all operations at one school-based afterschool center (SOAR program).

Essential Functions

  • Collaborate closely with the Program Director to ensure smooth daily operations of the SOAR summer program.
  • Support the Program Director in developing managing and adjusting program schedules and daily rotations across cohort classrooms.
  • Serve as an on-site point person for families ensuring effective and timely communication.
  • Provide direct logistical support to instructional staff and cohort leads.
  • Assist in oversight of students in main office as needed.
  • Organize and support daily activities projects and special events.
  • Assist in the preparation and distribution of program materials supplies and documentation.
  • Ensure the physical safety and emotional well-being of students in classrooms and common areas.
  • Supervise students in various settings including lunch arrival/dismissal and transitions.
  • Support staff in maintaining a positive learning environment aligned with school-wide expectations (PBIS/MTSS frameworks).
  • Maintain records as needed for attendance behavior incidents and other program operations.
  • Report significant concerns to the Program Director and contribute to problem-solving and solution implementation.
  • Provide support to SOAR staff during student escalations transitions and unexpected schedule adjustments.
  • Support the Program Director in facilitating staff meetings planning sessions and trainings as directed.
  • Maintain confidentiality and adhere to district policies procedures and professional conduct standards.

Minimum QUALIFICATIONS

Education/Training

  • Advanced Education and/or experience in a related field Bachelors preferred.
  • Current first aid/CPR certification or willingness to obtain promptly.

Knowledge Skills and Abilities

  • Ability to communicate effectively to multiple audiences
  • Demonstrated ability and aptitude to perform the responsibilities listed.
  • Ability to schedule and manage tasks effectively
  • Understanding of and experience working with education or youth services .
  • Experience working within the public school system preferred.
  • Experience working with community neighborhood organizations community agencies and volunteer programs.
  • Demonstrated ability in community outreach and organizing/planning.
  • Demonstrated ability to interact positively and in a professional manner with a diverse group of students parents staff and community members in a confidential manner.
  • Ability to relate positively to youth and adults of varying socioeconomic cultural and ethnic backgrounds different learning styles and special needs.
  • Demonstrated knowledge of culturally responsive programs and activities.
  • Demonstrated skill in communicating effectively with all staff students and as a team member both verbally and in writing.
  • Experience with computers and software such as windows Microsoft Office and/or publishing software.
  • Knowledge of student safety rules and procedures.
  • Ability to maintain strict confidentiality.
  • Positive youth development and effective management techniques.

A person working in this position will exert up to 50 pounds of force occasionally while carrying pushing and/or pulling to move objects. The employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 pounds unaided and may lift over 50 pounds with the assistance of another person and/or a lift assist. While performing the duties of this job the employee is frequently required to stand walk sit; some stooping kneeling and/or crouching; and significant fine finger dexterity. The job is performed under conditions with exposure to risk of injury and/or ordinary infectious diseases carried by students.

TERMS OF EMPLOYMENT and SALARY PLACEMENT:

As outlined by the Policies and Procedures of Mead School District. Mead policies and Procedures can be accessed online at https:// salary range for the position is: Min $25 Max $25Salary placement will be at step 1 on the appropriate scale for the position. Previous relevant experience may result in higher step placement within the posted range.

Employees upon working 630 hours per year will be eligible for Benefits through the School Employees Benefits Board (SEBB) Standard benefits include Medical Dental Vision Life Insurance and Long-Term Disability. Positions anticipated to work 70 hours or more per month for at least 5 months over a 12-month period are eligible for Retirement through the State Department of Retirement Services.
