School Facilitator
QUALIFICATIONS:
- Bachelors degree in education or related field preferred.
- Experience working in a K-12 education system preferred.
- Such alternatives to the above qualifications as the District may find appropriate and acceptable.

- Non-instructional classified staff at the site
JOB GOAL(S):
Work cooperatively with building and district staff to manage support services in order to enhance the morale of school district personnel promote the overall efficiency of the school system and maximize the educational opportunities available to each child.
POSITION RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Supervises and evaluates non-instructional classified staff at the site.
- Responsible for all administrative duties that are not directly related to instruction and student achievement including assisting the principal in managing school activities.
- Manages school scheduling special events field trips cafeteria transportation maintenance playgrounds and cleaning.
- Manages community use of school site.
- Assists the Principal with the preparation and implementation of the school safety plan: disaster preparation fire drills student staff and public safety and student health.
- Maintains equipment textbook and supply inventories.
- Monitors student attendance and coordinates efforts to improve student attendance.
- Coordinates with the principal to maintain a positive safe learning environment for students by enforcing the school discipline plan.
- Promotes the school and District through positive relations with community business parents and students.
- Plan organize coordinate and control large group events classified meetings and community and family engagement events.
- Communicate effectively and work cooperatively with others
- Work cooperatively with others.
- Maintain records and prepare reports.
- Train supervise and evaluate support personnel.
- Analyze situations accurately and adopt an effective course of action.
- Understand and work within the scope of authority.
- Use computer telephone and alarm systems proficiently.
- Manage conflict.
- Support in the transition of students on and off the bus as well as when needed riding the bus to support students based on student needs. All personnel supporting students with individual educational plans should anticipate supporting in occasional and up to consistent bus riding and must complete bus rider training (to be provided upon hire).
- Other duties/responsibilities as needed or assigned.
TERMS OF EMPLOYMENT:
200 contract days
Salary and calendar year to be evaluated in accordance with Board Policy of the Iowa City Community School District.
EVALUATION:
Performance of this job will be evaluated in accordance with provisions of the Districts policy on Evaluation State Statute and any applicable Collective Bargaining Agreement.
