Following is a general list of tasks falling into the Superintendents areas of responsibility: Direct and coordinate GMHILLs trade contractors and their subcontractors when required to ensure they turn out high-quality work that meets the approved project schedule Supervise the construction of a large project or multiple projects as primary safety representative in the field Manage the project budget for general conditions and site services Maintain a thorough understanding of contract documents to be able to coordinate trades plan and anticipate potential problems before they arise Direct / Supervise all field personnel to achieve completion of the project on schedule within budget with quality workmanship that conforms to original plans and specifications Produce and review submittals with subcontractors suppliers and owners reps. Promote and monitor job site safety compliance and productivity of all trades. Obtain or verify that the subcontractors obtain all necessary permits for construction purposes Resolve jurisdictional disputes Advise Project Managers of potential problems work interference and schedule difficulties; assist in resolving problems and managing jobsite logistics as required Conduct maintenance and planning of workarounds shutdowns and tie-ins Prepare work schedule determine manpower requirements material quantities equipment needs and supervise completion offinal punch list Establish credibility among Owners trade contractors unions etc. by maintaining a fair and trustworthy environment Maintain a positive work atmosphere ensuring actions and behaviors are respectful among all Prepare and enforce the companys safety program on federal projects. Meet the requirements of EM Section 1 and ensure that the requirements of 29 CFR 1926.16 are met for the project. Site Safety Health Officer (SSHO) shall always be on-site when work is being performed to implement and administer the Contractors safety program and government-accepted Accident Prevention Plan. The SSHOs training experience and qualifications shall be as required by EM paragraph 01.A.17 entitled SITE SAFETY AND HEALTH OFFICER (SSHO) and all associated sub-paragraphs. Must be on-site when the work that presents the hazards associated with their professional expertise is being performed. The SSHO shall fulfill the required pre-requisite training and experience before being hired as the SSHO under this contract. Must be fully knowledgeable of all safety environmental and energy requirements associated with the work they perform.
