Position Overview
Were looking for a hands-on Mechatronics Engineer who is self-directed dynamic and deeply curious about how things work. The ideal candidate brings a strong foundation in mechatronics or related disciplines thrives on building and testing and relies on a mix of engineering principles and intuition to make smart fast discoveries.
This role offers the chance to work on cutting-edge electric drive systems collaborating across hardware firmware and mechanical teams to bring innovative designs to life.
Key Responsibilities
- Design build and test mechatronic systems for electric drive solutions
- Integrate mechanical electrical and software components into cohesive systems
- Collaborate on prototyping and troubleshooting motor controllers sensors and related subsystems
- Perform system-level testing validation and data analysis
- Work closely with the electrical engineering team on circuit design and layout (experience creating schematics and printed circuit board layout is a strong asset)
- Provide hands-on support during builds test setups and iterative development cycles (experience using machine tools is a strong asset)
- Contribute to continuous improvement of system performance manufacturability and reliability
Qualifications
Required:
- Bachelors degree in Mechatronics Electrical Mechanical Systems Engineering or a related field
- Strong hands-on engineering skills comfortable with tools test equipment prototyping and debugging
- Demonstrated self-direction and ability to take initiative in fluid work environments
- Curiosity-driven mindset with a passion for understanding how systems work
- Excellent problem-solving skills across a broad range of disciplines
- Effective communication and collaboration skills
Preferred/Assets:
- Experience with electronics hardware schematics and PCB layout
- Familiarity with electric motors motor controllers or embedded systems
- Exposure to control systems embedded firmware and sensor interfacing
- Experience in automotive robotics or clean tech industries
