Job Description
Allstaff is currently looking for Utility operators in the Elgin Area
Qualified candidates will operate machinery and equipment that carries products to the next staging area. Help to maintain equipment by performing weekly preventive maintenance.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities: Responsibilities of the Operator include the following.
- Stack items to make packs for materials to be wrapped
- Moving raw material from location to location
- Crushing drums
- Wrapping packs with wrapping and placing tags appropriate to the material being processed.
- Operating a forklift.
- Discarding damaged product.
- Helping with Cleanup and other up keep duties as required.
Physical Demands:
- Standing and walking
- Using hands to touch handle or feel
- Reaching with hands and arms
- Climbing stairs
- Stooping kneeling crouching or crawling (On an as needed basis)
- Lifting and/or moving from 5 to 30 lbs. on an intermittent basis and lifting and/or moving from 5 to 50 lbs. as needed
Work Environment:
- Moving mechanical parts
- Outside weather conditions
- Vibration
- High noise levels
