Overview
The TGT (Trained Graduate Teacher) Maths Teacher plays a crucial role in shaping the minds of young learners by providing a strong foundation in mathematical concepts and problem-solving skills. Responsible for developing engaging lesson plans the TGT Maths Teacher fosters a supportive and challenging classroom environment that encourages critical thinking and a love for mathematics. This role not only involves teaching but also mentoring students assessing their progress and collaborating with parents and colleagues to promote holistic development. The focus of this position is to instill confidence in students as they navigate through mathematical theories and applications preparing them for future academic pursuits. As an integral part of the school community the TGT Maths Teacher contributes to the overall success of students and helps them realize their full potential ensuring that they are equipped with essential skills applicable in real-world scenarios.
Key Responsibilities
- Prepare and deliver detailed lesson plans in line with the curriculum.
- Create a positive learning environment that encourages student participation.
- Use various teaching methods and strategies to cater to different learning styles.
- Assess and evaluate students understanding through assignments and tests.
- Provide timely feedback to students and parents regarding academic progress.
- Implement innovative classroom activities to enhance student engagement.
- Incorporate technology and digital tools into lesson plans and activities.
- Facilitate group discussions and collaborative learning experiences.
- Attend faculty meetings workshops and training sessions as required.
- Maintain accurate records of student attendance and performance.
- Support students in their social and emotional development.
- Adapt teaching methods based on students performance and feedback.
- Encourage students to develop critical thinking and problem-solving skills.
- Supervise students during extracurricular activities and field trips.
- Communicate regularly with parents to discuss student progress and areas for improvement.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelors degree in Mathematics or a related field.
- Completion of a teacher training program.
- Certification as a Trained Graduate Teacher (TGT).
- Strong understanding of mathematical concepts theories and practices.
- Experience teaching mathematics at the secondary level.
- Proficiency in using educational technology and software.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Ability to build rapport with students and staff.
- Strong organizational and time management skills.
- Experience in developing assessments and evaluation criteria.
- Knowledge of educational standards and curriculum development.
- Commitment to continuing professional development.
- Ability to differentiate instruction to meet diverse learning needs.
