Job Description

Permanent Full-time position - 38 hours per week during the school term.

Agreement Classification: Clerical and Administration Services Level 3

St Columba Anglican School Port Macquarie is a co educational ELC - 12 campus set on 37 picturesque acres in the heart of Port Macquaries Education Precinct. Whilst residing in one of the states most liveable regions on the Mid-North Coast of NSW in a community that is growing in opportunity our staff work with students and families who are optimistic aspirational and engaged in a nurturing educational community.

The Marketing and Events Assistant provides marketing communication event coordination and administrative support to the Community Engagement & Events team. The position supports the team in promoting the school strengthening the connections with families and ensuring a smooth execution of key events throughout the year.

Your warm and approachable manner along with your professionalism and discretion will be key to your success in this role.

This is a full-time ongoing position however consideration will be given to applicants with the requisite knowledge and experience for a part-time role.

What you bring

  • Excellent interpersonal skills and the ability to build rapport with young children staff parents and the community.
  • High-level problem-solving skills and the ability to handle multiple tasks and priorities.
  • A proactive solution-oriented mindset with strong attention to detail
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Strong IT skills with experience in TASS SEQTA and Google Workspace software systems desirable.
  • Outstanding personal presentation.
  • Demonstrated capacity to maintain discretion and sensitivity when dealing with confidential matters.
  • Ability to work as a team member.

Qualifications

  • Secondary: Higher School Certificate (or equivalent)
  • Tertiary/TAFE or VET Tertiary qualifications in Marketing or Event Management
  • Licences: Drivers Licence (Car) (not essential)
  • Basic photography videography and graphic design skills.
  • Basic audio-visual knowledge is desirable to support our AV Technician for performances and events.

  • Highly organised detail-oriented and able to manage multiple tasks at once.
  • Possess a strong work ethic striving for continuous improvement and the achievement of high standards.
  • Demonstrated ability to meet deadlines to exercise sound judgement and initiative in decision-making to self-manage and prioritise own workload to utilise analytical and logistical skills and forward planning and to work collegially as part of a team.
  • Ability to work with little or no supervision and show initiative and enthusiasm.
  • Ability to undertake manual handling and the physical requirements of the role.
  • Demonstrated strong interpersonal skills and a capacity to quickly develop authentic relationships.
  • Demonstrate a commitment to supporting the Christian values Anglican ethos and culture of the School.

Mandatory Criteria

The applicant must have or be able to obtain prior to commencing work a current Working with Children Check. The applicant will need to have a current First Aid Certificate or the school can arrange for one to be completed.
