Summary
East Side House (ESH) founded in 1891 is a 501(c) (3) organization that has served the South Bronx since 1963. The organization is dedicated to the community and focused on providing resources and opportunities. East Side House has identified that education is the foundation for economic improvement. Our youth education and technology programs teach skills to allow students and clients to become more self-sufficient and independent. As a community resource the organization also provides services to families and a growing senior population. In 2020 the organization began food distribution as an additional way to provide economic support to the community we serve.
Neighborhood Development Area Educational Support Programs provide High School students the services and support they need to do better in school enter college or an advanced training program learn leadership skills and develop conflict resolution/mediation skills. East Side House Settlement is directly responsible for the administration of the NDA program which enhances the academic component by offering additional academic support career and education exploration work preparation skills development and internships.
Under the supervision of the Program Director the Family Development Coach will be responsible for leading the development and implementation of an Internship Program and its activities for high school students part of East Side House Settlement. The program will include various components including a series of workshops and small group sessions.

Required Skills/Experience
Expected Work Schedule
This role is a full-time position (35 hours/week) expected to generally work Monday through Friday 9 a.m. to 5 p.m.
Some weekends may be required. Workdays/hours subject to change based on ESHs needs.

COVID Vaccine As a recipient of Federal State and local funds all staff are expected to be fully vaccinated or able to obtain vaccination before their start date
Supervisory Responsibility
This role does not supervise employees but will manage a caseload assigned to the program.
Work Environment
Business casual. This job operates in a school office environment. This role routinely uses standard office equipment such as computers phones photocopiers filing cabinets and fax machines.
Travel
Minimal expected for this position.

The physical demands described here represent those that an employee must meet to successfully perform this jobs essential functions. While performing the duties of this job the employee is regularly required to talk or hear. This role is generally a sedentary role; however some sorting/filing is required. Requirements include the ability to lift files open filing cabinets and bend or stand on a stool as necessary.
