Description

POSITION OVERVIEW:

The Small Business Programs Manager is responsible for managing and executing the existing and future small business technical assistance programs of Impact Loan Fund. The Programs Manager will be in charge of connecting Impact Loan Funds clients to business coaching and technical assistance resources to ensure they gain the knowledge and expertise needed to Programs Manager reports directly to the Director of Lending and works with the entire ILF team. This is a position with the potential to grow as additional programs are launched and additional clients are added to the ILF small business portfolio. JOB SUMMARY:

This position provides business coaching and development support to small business loan applicants and primary functions are to (1) work with existing ILF Small Business borrowers on a regular basis to enroll and complete the ILF small business technical assistance program (2) proactively provide guidance to help small business borrowers address potential challenges before they escalate ensuring the long-term stability and success of their businesses (3) listen and provide advice on any issues before they become problems and otherwise strengthen their small businesses and (4) lead the implementation and development of both existing programs including Drive Your Business and Catalyst Fund programs and new programs when the opportunity arises. A drive to assist existing and potential entrepreneurs in their efforts to access capital to achieve financial success and improve the overall economy of the Greater Kensington area is a key requirement. The ability to identify each existing business owners level of understanding of small business planning and financials and to work with a variety of entrepreneurs at various levels of skill experience and knowledge is also role offers significant growth potential as ILF continues expanding its small business programs and portfolio.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • At least five (5) years small business training experience or commercial/business banking experience dealing with small to medium-sized businesses with an emphasis on business lending.
  • Experience writing developing and/or reviewing Business Plans and Financial Statements
  • Demonstrated leadership organizational and interpersonal skills to direct develop and implement programming and engage existing and potential entrepreneurs.
  • Strong customer service skills and the ability to establish rapport with people ofdiverse ethnic racial and culturalbackgrounds.
  • Excellent organizational skills with attention to detail and the ability to work independently.
  • Effective time management and interpersonalskills.
  • Excellent verbal and written communicationskills.
  • Proficiency with basic computer skills including Microsoft Excel Outlook Word and Power Point.
  • Experience with Salesforce a plus.
  • Familiarity with the Kensington neighborhood of Philadelphia is a plus.
  • Bachelors degree a plus. Extensive experience may be substituted for educationalexperience.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS:

  • Frequently stand walk sit use hands to finger handle or feel objects tools or equipment reach with hands and arms balance talk or hear.
  • Occasionally climb stairs stoop kneel crouch or crawl.
  • Able to sit at a desk working at a computer workstation keyboarding and performing routine clerical duties.
  • Able to occasionally lift and/or move up to 25 pounds.
  • Operate related office equipment and use necessary tools.
