Then this is the job for you!

We are looking for a Professional Lead for Health Visiting who will provide clinical leadership on practice development ensuring the workforce has the knowledge skills and expertise to deliver the Healthy Child Programme in accordance with national strategies policies and procedures. The ideal candidate will have a strong team work ethic sense of accountability accompanied by an ability to work under pressure at times. You will be a natural leader and a team player who is committed to promoting excellent quality of care. You will be able to foster strong relationships with key stakeholders and drive through cultural change within the workforce where staff are empowered and encouraged to work to a continuous improvement model ensuring good processes for facilitating and agreeing changes.

You would be responsible for practice development / clinical leadership of our health visiting service on behalf of Cornwall Council and the Council of the Isles of Scilly. We cover 6 Localities within the beautiful County of Cornwall which borders Devon covering areas such as Bude Launceston Liskeard down as far as Helston and Penzance.

The Role:

Working closely with the Head of Service Service Managers Professional Lead for School Nursing Practice Teachers and Team Managers you will strive to continually improve health outcomes reduce inequalities and safeguard children and young people in Cornwall and the Isles of Scilly through the provision of an evidenced based and needs led service. You will take a lead role in practice development to ensure the workforce has the knowledge Skills and expertise to deliver the Healthy Child Programme CQC requirements NICE guidance and other key policy drivers. Contribute to the development of partnership working with other statutory and voluntary organisations to improve communication develop pathways to support better outcomes for children.

You will join our experienced teams in leading and delivering the Healthy Child programme to the children and families within Cornwall. This is a great opportunity to join us in our journey in developing a fully integrated service to meet the needs of the local communities and to ensure there are improved outcomes for all our children and young people.

This position will be subject to an enhanced criminal record disclosure check.

Working Pattern:

This is a full-time 37.5 hr role that has flexible working options available however the successful candidate must be able to attend meetings in Cornwall as required.

What youll need to succeed:

You need to be a qualified Specialist Community Public Health Nurse (Health Visiting) with entry onto the 3rd part of the NMC. Further qualification in Specialist Practice Teaching or equivalent with evident of Masters level study or working towards this. Evidence of on-going professional development is essential. You will have excellent interpersonal and communication skills with the ability to prioritise and ensure key targets are met. You should be able to work alone and in a team with an ability to maintain electronic record keeping.
