Job Description:
Summary
The Veterinary Pathology department is seeking qualified candidates for a Part time 20 hour per week role as a Teaching Lab Specialist.
In this role the candidate will manage the Teaching Lab and will help with the following duties:
- Support in setting up the lab before class and cleaning up after the lab is completed. Ordering lab materials.
- Oversee maintenance and renewal of teaching collections including gross tissues and digital images.
- Assist with course data entry.
- Maintain lab microscopes and digital slide library.
Candidates must be legally authorized to work in the U.S. on an on-going basis without sponsorship.
Example of Duties
Coordinates space and monitors use of teaching labs.
Maintains and repairs equipment.
Directs the purchase service and repair of equipment and machinery.
Designs and tests lab protocols and revises as necessary.
Prepares and revises lab manuals.
Develops lab materials for instruction.
Manages budgetary needs.
Enforces safety standards in labs through training and written materials.
Schedules and evaluates staff graduate assistants and student workers.
