Assistant Director of PASS
Partnering for Access Success & Support (PASS) is dedicated to advancing Michigan State Universitys student success priorities throughout Student Affairs ensuring our institutions holistic framework is implemented throughout the various programs and initiatives facilitated within the division. Guided by MSUs Division of Student Affairs and in close collaboration with campus partners also PASS develops inclusive student-centered initiatives that empower students to thrive academically personally and socially across both curricular and co-curricular experiences.
The Assistant Director of the PASS reports directly to the Director and plays a pivotal role in advancing student success and institutional priorities through the division and cross-campus collaboration. This position supports the strategic goals of the division by integrating academic and co-curricular initiatives utilizing data-informed strategies and fostering inclusive practices that address the needs of a diverse student body. The Assistant Director focuses on the implementation of innovative student success initiatives that promote academic proficiency student engagement and leadership development. By working closely with campus partners including Residence Life colleges undergraduate research and academic departmentsthe Assistant Director ensures that academic support and student affairs initiatives are aligned to meet student success outcomes.
Knowledge equivalent to that which normally would be acquired by completing one or two years of post-bachelor degree work such as a Masters in Student Affairs Higher Education Administration Counseling Psychology or a related field; five to eight years of related and progressively more responsible or expansive work experience in developing and implementing programs policies and procedures and supervising and coordinating staff; or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
Masters or PhD in Student Affairs Higher Education Administration Counseling Psychology or a related field; Minimum of ten (10) years of experience in student affairs or related field with demonstrated experience in leadership data assessment research driven student success initiatives;Strong interpersonal communication and collaboration skills with a commitment to diversity equity and inclusion;Must be able to organize and implement student success initiatives in partnership with the campus community;Knowledge of current trends and best practices student development theory and academic integration;Excellent written and verbal communication skills;Computer skills to include Microsoft Office and Qualtrics for departmental reporting
