Job Description

Position Summary
THIS IS A TIME - LIMITED POSITION WITH AN ESTIMATED DURATION OF 3 YEARS . UNC Horizons seeks a Gender-responsive Drug Treatment Court Peer Support Specialist to help women impacted by substance use trauma violence and incarceration meet their frug treatment court and/or recovery goals. The position will work alongside the Program Coordinator to complete screenings referrals and intakes to Gender-Responsive Substance Use Disorder Services. This person will work within an interdisciplinary team to support treatment goals related to life skills housing education and employment resources that will promote long-term recovery. The position will work closely with the Program Coordinator to obtain follow-up interviews and satisfaction surveys for Drug Treatment Court clients. Specifically provide peer support services to clients engaged in Gender-Responsive Drug Treatment Court Services: a) Engage in ethical service delivery and practices as required by all auditing bodies (certification and licensure boards UNC University UNC Horizons) b) Foster hope and healing among individuals impacted by SUD trauma violence and incarceration through story-telling and strengths-based skills c) Serve as a member of Horizons interdisciplinary team as well as with the existing Drug Treatment Court teams of Orange and Chatham Counties. d) Assist clients at the time of involvement with Drug Treatment Court in a state vehicle to support with transportation and continuity of care to access MOUD and SUD treatment and other immediate needs e) Ensure that individuals are working towards their long-term housing and vocational goals; assisting with developing community relationships with second-chance employers and realtors f) Attend Horizons weekly interdisciplinary meetings and individual supervision with Program Coordinator and other team meetings g) Document services delivered in adherence to program productivity standards. All contacts for peer support must be documented with a daily service note. The note must indicate purpose of the intervention the specific intervention providing how effective the intervention was and how much time was spent providing the intervention.

Required Qualifications Competencies And Experience
* Strong interpersonal and organizational skills * Must be knowledgeable of the impact of trauma stigma substance use and legal involvement and/or incarceration among pregnant parenting and single women * Must have a valid drivers license

Preferred Qualifications Competencies And Experience
* Has knowledge about substance use during pregnancy substance use and legal involvement and/or incarceration and at least one year of peer support experience; or experience with the substance abuse population * Holds an addiction credential from the NCSAPPB ( CADC CADC -R) * Experience working within an interdisciplinary team

Monday Friday (8am 5pm)
