Job Description

Summer Technology Services Technician - (Temporary)

Job Title: Summer Technology Services Technician

Reports to: Technology Services Manager

Salary: Position hourly rate $20.00

June 23rd - August 15th (Monday-Friday)

8 hours per day from 7:30 - 4:00 (30 minute lunch)

Position Summary:

The Summer Technology Services Technician will assist the technology department staff with summer technology projects. Projects include cart maintenance lab upgrades hardware installs hardware repairs asset tagging organization and cleanup of technology environments.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • High School diploma or equivalent (documentation required at time of application) Some experience in providing services including repair training and/or systems design Ethernet network experience desired
  • Valid Washington State drivers license and provide own vehicle
  • Experience and/or training with cultural ethnic and language diversity preferred Successful Washington State Patrol and Federal Bureau of Investigation Fingerprint Clearance
  • I-9 Employment Eligibility in compliance with the Immigrations Reform and Control Act

Desired Qualifications/ Skills:

  • Willingness and ability to work as a member of the information technology team to identify and address issues with district hardware and/or software.
  • Willingness and ability to perform support tasks as determined by the MSD technology services manager.
  • Ability to develop and maintain cooperative and productive relationships. Demonstrated proficiency with Google software applications (or ability to learn) and the ability to assist teachers and students in using district approved software effectively. Demonstrated knowledge in using inventory system (or ability to learn). Demonstrated knowledge in using mobile device management systems (or ability to learn). Collaborative thinker and problem solver with a growth mindset.
  • Demonstrated comfort with technology troubleshooting.

  • Cultural Responsiveness. Ability to demonstrate cultural responsiveness respect and value for all cultural heritages and participate in conversations about identifying and addressing personal cultural and institutional bias.

Work Environment:

The work environment characteristics described are representative of those an employee may encounter while performing the essential functions of this job. The employee may be confined to a designated work area; routinely moves equipment weighing up to 50 pounds across campus for various classroom and event needs and may constantly positions self to install computer equipment including under desks. The employee may be required to deal with distraught and/or angry persons and could be exposed to infectious diseases carried by staff or students. The noise level in the work environment is acceptable to this particular environment and can vary depending upon daily activity but will remain within acceptable ranges.
