The Director of Sales is responsible for leading and executing the overall sales strategy for our equipment distribution business. This role oversees regional and national sales teams builds and manages strategic customer relationships develops new business opportunities and ensures sales targets are met or exceeded. The ideal candidate has deep industry experience in equipment distribution (construction industrial agricultural etc.) strong leadership skills and a proven record of scaling sales performance.
Key Responsibilities:
Develop and implement a comprehensive sales strategy aligned with company goals and market dynamics.
Lead mentor and manage the sales team (regional managers account executives inside sales etc.).
Set clear objectives and KPIs for the sales organization and monitor performance against targets.
Identify new market opportunities and customer segments for growth.
Build and maintain strong relationships with key customers partners and OEMs.
Collaborate with marketing operations and service teams to align sales efforts with overall business operations.
Prepare and present sales forecasts budgets and performance reports to senior leadership.
Negotiate high-value deals and contracts in coordination with legal and finance departments.
Stay current on industry trends competitor activity and customer needs to inform strategy.
Participate in trade shows conferences and industry events.
Qualifications:
Bachelors degree in Business Sales Marketing or related field (MBA preferred).
812 years of experience in sales with at least 5 years in a leadership role within the equipment distribution industry.
Demonstrated success in managing high-performing sales teams and achieving aggressive growth targets.
Strong understanding of the equipment distribution channel including inventory logistics and customer service.
An effective presenter able to address both current account and prospect needs and offer solutions to enhance their business
Excellent communication negotiation and interpersonal skills with a record of successfully building and sustaining client relationships.
Proficient in CRM systems (e.g. Salesforce) and Microsoft Office Suite.
Ability to travel as needed (3050%).
Experience in planning and budgeting and able to prepare detailed forecasts and strategic plans.
Preferred Experience:
Knowledge of specific equipment types (e.g. laser systems packaging security printing and more).
Experience working with manufacturers/OEMs and managing dealer or distributor networks.
Familiarity with leasing financing and after-market service models.
$175000 - $200000 a year
Potential annual bonus on total sales goals and company profitability. This role is for succession planning of leadership and potential ownership.
